I'm looking for a stroller for DD (she's just turned 1)...mainly for when we go away to Perth (from QLD) over Christmas (DD will turn 17 months on Christmas Day).
I'd really like it if it had the following:

- A reclining seat
- A structured seat
- Swivel front wheels
- A small bag/basket underneath it
- A rainguard and hood
- made to fit a bub up to 4 years (hopefully won't need it that long though...)
(If it has cup holders I'd be extra happy too...!).

I'd like it to be reasonably light-weight, easy to fold and kind of compact when it's folded (though I don't need an umbrella one...). Mainly so it's easy to use on public transport (buses) and doesn't cost heaps to send across to Perth and back on the plane.

I'm willing to pay a fair bit for one...and I'd actually prefer one from a Baby store rather than from Target or whatever.

So...any recommendations?

Hi there, I got a "Steelcraft Holiday" from Big W for around $99 when we went to QLD. It was fantastic - it has everything you mentioned except the cup holders. I think it only comes in red though.

Good luck and enjoy your trip!!!

Hi Sassy  I've got a Valco Titan Stroller for my DD, who is also 1. It's great, easy to fold & very compact & lightweight, reasonable size basket underneath, reclines & has an adjustable seat. It comes with a strap on the side so you can sling it onto your shoulder when boarding & alighting from buses & such. Has a sunshadey type thing but doesn't come with a rain cover but you could do as I did & buy one cheap from Big W. From memory it wasn't all that costly & with Valco you expect that it will wear well & last. Good luck & let me know if I can be of anymore help.
Ciao,
Brooke.

Thanks for the input so far!

Yeah, I checked out the red steelcraft stroller at my local Big W...just for a look...not really interested. I'd rather something that wasn't bright red...lol.

I've been having a peek online as well...but I don't really know what's what, or what works well...and was just hoping to get some opinions BEFORE I went into BabyCo or another baby store...first-hand experience with an item is better than what a saleperson says...or what it says on the little tag attached to it...

I have a "Infa Aspen" and I love it. It is nearly identical to the Peg Perego P3 but without the price tag. It has a tray bar thing instead of the bar(like the european ones) If you want to see a pic let me know and I will be more than happy to send you one. The handles are also hight adjustable.

We have the Steelcraft Profile Stroller.
You can look at it here as well as many others at Babies Galore :

http://www.babiesgalore.com.au/show_product_search.php?lim=24&searchtype=category&categoryid=34&subCategoryId=&returnUrl2=L3Nob3dfcHJvZHVjdF9zZWFyY2gucGhwP2xpbT0 xNiZzZWFyY2h0eXBlPWNhdGVnb3J5JmNhdGVnb3J5aWQ9MzQmc 3ViQ2F0ZWdvcnlJZD0=

Its really good as its one that has a bar across it which i like for safety but Boof loves to hang on to it or put his feet up lol it also comes off for when they are older.
Its a really easy to use stroller

We also had the Valco Urban Ultralight on the following page to that which was also a great stroller & really easy to use it isnt the umbrella fold like the Steelcraft but does fold up very small & has the shoulder strap for you to carry it on a bus say with your lo in your arms. We had to change due to DP hurting his back as we found that being so compact & lightweight then him being so tall he had to sort of hunch over to push it where as the above is a lot taller.

Hi

I have no advice on a stroller, But I was wondering if you would have time for a meet while you are here in Perth?

It would be nice to have a coffee (or two) with you.

We have a Valco Urban Ultralight. It's been a good pram. Very lightweight, great for public transport, it's been on a few plane trips too. It comes with a raincover and large basket. Not to pricey at about $180.
