Technically as long as she fits in the car seat she can stay in it (as long as she is under the wieight limit). When my ds turned two though I went and bought a maxi rider for him and I love it. He still fits in it now (at 3 1/2) and has plenty of growing room...

This is the law in qld:
Babies and children aged between six months and four years of age must be secured in either an approved rearward facing child restraint or an approved forward facing child restraint with built-in harness that is properly fastened and ajdusted. It is recommended that a baby remain in an approved infant restraint for as long as possible.
So when she is in the weight range for the seat you are looking at, or when she is to big weight wise for the seat you currently have.
All the seats should have a weight range on the bottom on the seat HTH

Hi there,
I have been endlessly researching the car seats too. Number 3 is due in May and we need to get a booster for my son who is turning 4 in Feb.
We put our son into the maxi rider when he was 15 months. I think he was well over the 8kg mark by then. Its a good seat, but a bit wide, its about 48cm, where most others are around 45cm, its only 3cms, but with 3 car seats, you need every bit of space.
And if you are thinking of more children, you might want to keep in mind how many car seats you need to fit in the car.
We have also just read the cushion booster, that is the half seat available is going to be made illegal in March 2010. All children need to be in a full booster until they are 7. This is on RTA website. Not sure of any other states having the same law.
So in our car, we have the SNS maxi rider Mk2 and a SNS Royale (convertible). We cannot fit another Maxi in our car...(magna wagon).
I think we have decided on the SafeNSound Hi Liner (the newer narrower version). But only from 14kgs up.
Hope it helps you a bit. Problem shared is a problem halved I say.
Good luck.

thanks for the help... i havent looked at the weight range on her current car seat tho i know she weighs 15kg
We have just ordered an Infa Comfi Cruiser for DS who is 2.5 and 15kgs. It is a convertible/booster so it has the 5 point harness to 18kgs, when the harness gets taken out and replaced by a 'H' harness. We had to buy a convertible/booster seat as DD hit the weight limit for her capsule and needed DS' seat.
If you don't need to use the seat your DD is in yet for anything else, I would suggest waiting until she hits the weight limit of the seat ( which is usually 18kgs) and then just getting a booster seat which will be a bit cheaper than the convertible/booster combo.
