OK ladies, tell me exactly what we need to do and we will do it
We have a girl, boy, boy and if DD doesn't get a sister next time round she will NOT be happy!
TBH, we don't really mind, but it would be nice to give her a sister, so whatever we can do to help make a v-jay-jay, please let me know :D. We probably wont start trying until mid-late this year, so we've got plenty of time to research this.
Thanks for your help
Hi- I've just copied this from another post in this "Gender" forum and changed it a bit (a bit lazy perhaps, but I like to think of it as "efficient" ;))
We have just found out that I'm pregnant (only 4-5 weeks so being very cautiously optimistic), and after having 2 boys I did start out trying for a girl.
Timing seems the most logical (ie scientifically based) to me, with research saying that "girls" are slower but stronger than the fast but weak "boys" so having some loving prior to ovulation means that by the time you ovulate the hare-like boys have all been waiting too long, but the 'tortise' girls mosy on in right on schedule.
Some "theys" (as in "they say") suggest cranking the Barry White every day from the end of your period to 2-3 days prior to ovulation. Others (probably the more realistic ones/ or the ones that actually have other kids and/or stuff to do other than getting down & dirty every night!) say go 4-5 days before, then stop the day or 2 before. I found this site really helpful http://www.yourdays.com/, as you can select what "brand" of bub you'd prefer, or if you just want to get pregnant, and it will give "your days"
Also on this theory is that the lower the sperm count the higher chance of girls (again, since they are the stronger ones they will "outlive" the boys once the count starts dropping). Obviously this is daddy's department- Things like tighter jocks (rather than boxers), hot showers/ baths, increased "flush outs" (either with or without you ;)), all are said to decrease sperm count. Although this probably isn't something that should be taken too lightly as it may cause other issues.
Diet is also said to play a part, and I did try to eat more dairy and nuts (protein), but as soon as I didn't get pregnant in the first month I gave up (esp with a nearly 3yo and 1.5yo to feed, who can be bothered!).
Anyway, like I said I was initially hoping for a girl, but I am now pretty wrapped to have either (although 3 under 3.5 will be crazy regardless of gender!).
While I was interested in the topic of gender "swaying", I always maintained that it's generally a 50/50 chance, but what's the harm in trying to sway the odds to 51% my way?
Best of luck :)... and sorry for getting a bit carried away! :ecomcity::ecomcity::ecomcity:
(you can see why I just copied rather than trying to retype of a lot of this!)

Hi there,
We have 2 boys as well and are hoping to start TTC a girl sometime around this time next year :fingerscrossed:
The link I've attached above is a thread for a little while ago which has some EXCELLENT and very indepth information for TTC a specific gender. Have a read through and see what you think!
I've been looking into this gender swaying thing quite a bit since DS2 was born - we tried timing alone when TTC him (we had a cut-off of 2 days ie had frequent intercourse from the end of my period until CD 13 and I O'd on CD 15 yet still got a boy). However from the research I've done since, its obvious we did quite a few other things that are "boy friendly" so next time I think we're going to go with a personalised plan from another site who provide that service for people who want to make a really good attempt at a boy/girl ;)
I only hope that will be enough for us to get a little girl!
Have a read over the info in the thread above and feel free to come back on and ask questions - there's so much to it!
Good luck!

Thanks girls, that's great!
NGPlus3 - I knew about the timing one, but I have PCOS so trying to work out my cycle ain't easy :detective:. Didn't know about the low sperm count though... maybe that's why we had a girl when DH smoked and the 2 boys after he quit... interesting! I'd rather another boy than him smoking again! And I absolutely agree with you, this is just a 51% swing :D. Good luck with your bub
Ritali - thank you for the link, I will check it out when the kids give me a chance :hair:. If I have any questions I promise to hunt you down ;). I'm really looking forward to giving this a go... I hope we both have some girly luck :goodvibes:
how exciting, best of luck muminshock :):)
