hey guys
well i'm introducing myself following getting my first post locked yesterday. i have a little boy who is 5 months old, and i'm amazed where the time has gone. i think the time thieves come and steal it all away! i'm a SAHM and although i'm having fun being a first time mummy it's easily the hardest thing i've ever done. it gets tricky sometimes as my partner works lots and i'm here on my own a lot, with no family (for various reasons) around. i think we are doing a pretty good job so far.
ok so the thread i started yesterday was in the circumcision area, and i just asked what people's thoughts on female circumcision were. my intention was not to cause any trouble, and it actually hadn't but it was locked in case it went all downhill. i have no intention getting my boy circumcised, i have no religious need to and i don't understand why people who don't have a religious need to want to have it done - i'm not against it, i'm just saying i don't understand. also my little one has already had two ops and i would never choose to have him put under a general anaesthetic - needless to say both ops i would gladly have had them done to myself rather than to him. it seems that way more people are opposed to female circumcision (possibly because it is not a worldwide practice, although it is done to millions of young girls) which may be due to the fact that it is damaging and often done without any anaesthetic, plus does not form part of any widely known religion, as with male circumcision.
anyway, i just wanted to explain myself - i promise i am not a forum troll, as some had wondered in that thread. i would have explained myself in the thread but it was locked, hence me doing this.
hope i haven't offended anybody; it truly wasn't my intention. hope everyone had lots of sleep last night..
