hi ladies,

just wanted to get some idea's as to what the next step is in the "lactose intolorant phase!!!

my bubba is 11 months old and I am just about to start trying to give her "proper" milk.
but my question is this- because she is LI this is going to make it very hard when out and about to take a bottle.

I would like to find a Lactose free milk that is fresh aswell as long life and in prima sizes so that when we go out we dont have to take 1ltr of milk, or have it sit in the bottle for hours on end??:barf:

does this make sence?.

i thought that if i could get the same brand in prima size long life then it would make things a hell of alot easier as we could just chuck a couple in the nappy bag and not worry that it was going to go yucky.:barf:

so does anyone have the same prob or do anything diff??

any suggestions would be handy.:o

Thanks!

Jiminy!

My son is also lactose intol. I use the long life milk and keep a spare in the bag and usually somewhere we go has a fridge if not I make sure I use it within a couple of hours. You can get the smaller long life cartons if you don't like the milk open. My ds1 has never been sick from off milk. I think we know when milk goes off and as a result don't use it. You can get a one of those cooler bags that keeps bottles cold.
Good luck,

thx ladies,

hey just another quick question.... can you keep long life milk in the cupboard and heat it from there, or do you have to refrigirate it first...stupid question I know, but no-one in the fam is LI so i have never had to worry about these things.....

if yes that would be easy as , as you could just take a prima sized LL milk out in the nappy bag and heat from that??

sorry to be so silly:o

my ds1 is lactose intolerant and he is on the s26 LF formula. we found he wasnt ready yet for the lactose free milk.but he is doing fine :)
i have seen lactose free prima size milks in the aisle where you get so good prima's etc. i havent seen them lots though.
as for heating i am not sure, i would refridgerate it first then heat it. my ds dislikes heated milk so i dont know lol
