Hi all!

just after a bit of help here...

Im 22weeks preg with first bubba. Im in south west sydney. And we have left bubs gender a suprise.

Thing is that if we have a boy we would like him Circd.

What im wondering though is how do we go about getting a doc/specialist organised? Do we book one in and then cancel if we have a girl, or do we just wait and see what we have first?

Also any reccomendations on docs/specialist in south west area would help too!

So yeah, just wondering where to start in regards to getting organised for this.

Thanks in advance! :goodvibes:

(PS - only helpful and productive replys, thanks  )

Hi i am from SWS as well, the doctor i used for my DS circ came highly recommended. To get into his clinic you call once your baby has been born and they will book you in within the first 6weeks. You then need to get a referral from your GP. The nurses at the clinic tell you everything you need to know, and on your appt day the doctor goes through everything gives you time if you decide not to go ahead with it.

We paid about $650 and you don't get any back from Medicare. We travelled to the Shire to see this doctor he was great. I will PM you his details

Hey I know my friend waited to find out the sex and had a boy she got in within 6weeks to have it done but that's in sa! So maybe just call a few places and find out if there is a waiting list etc! It's a pretty quick procedure from what I hear therefor I don't think you'll have much trouble! Although I would start looking for places that actually do it because I know there aren't many doc's that will preform the procedure now!
Hope this helps a little :)

I asked my midwife at one of my appointment she said to make note of in my birth plan notes etc. I asked again after bub was born and they( the hospital ) gave me all the information and the referral to the local specialist that does it. I had no trouble at all. No nasty comment at all infact they were more than willing to help.
