Hi guys,
I was just wondering if anyone else finds their Episiotomy site tender, and sometimes itchy still?
Its 3 months on, and it all healed up really well, I didnt get any infections or anything like that, but I was wondering how long it is until you dont feel tender when pressing against the skin?
Cheers,
Kat

Hi Kat,
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but....my episotomy scar was tender until DS was 7 months. I couldnt even sit on the floor until he was roughly 6 months.
I really hope your heals quicker than that. :fingerscrossed:
The good news is that it DOES start to feel better. DS is 1 tomorrow (OMG! ) and I feel back to normal in that department.

Thanks Monyfelix...I think...LOL
I guess it makes sence that it takes a while to heal fully. I dont know about you, but my cut was BIG and LONG, so there is alot of tissue that has to heal up.... *SIGH*
Oh and :bday: for your son, for tomorrow! :D

oohhh...how honest should I be? Ok, mine was a really deep cut and no-one else I know had a recovery as long as me so hopefully I won't sound too doomy and gloomy.
It took at least six months for mine to feel a bit normal but I was still acutely aware of where it is. The wound itself was clean but just so tender. For the nearly eight years since it was done (barring pregnancy) it has been painful during the first few days of my period. It feels like a real aching pressure on it. This still happens to a certain extent.
BUT......THE GOOD NEWS!
I have given birth twice since, both natural, unassisted births and there I didn't tear or graze at all. I was sure my scar would split but it was fine and my two last babies were 7lb and 8lb 3 oz. So although it is a pain in the *ahem* it wasn't affected in any way by giving birth again.
:D
I had to have surgery when DS was 6 months. The doctor who stitched me up botched it, and did it too tight. So i guess 6 months it was sore, but after the surgery it was great!! havent had any problems since!
