Hi all, we are at a cross roads with a 2y.o DS who wakes 3 times a night and needs company to get back go sleep. We've been either sleeping on the floor in her room or sitting on a chair in her room while she goes back to sleep.
Our DS wakes 1 - 2 times a night for a feed. All told I can be up 5 times in a night for 20 - 45 minutes per time. I am tired.
We are thinking it might be easier to put a mattress on the floor of our room for DD, and the cot in our room for DS so that everyone can get some sleep. We have been told we'll be making a rod for our backs etc etc etc and just wonder what other people do in this situation, and how long it takes for kids to decide that they want to sleep in their own rooms, in their own beds.
By the way, our DD had always self settled and slept 12 hours straight every night until DS joined our family...
