Chicken pox vaxx i think it is. DOnt think its a compulsary one, just a free one the government subsidises.
Varicella.
My DD didnt have it as she had already had a bad dose of Chicken pox so didnt need it.
Did they use to give MMR at 18 months?

Years ago, then they change the schedule. eldest dd had hers at 18 months, other 3 didnt.
They have the last bit of that at 12 months then again at 4 i am pretty sure, right before they start school.
Thank you JabberJaw and IndigoJ

yep it is the chicken pox needle. its part of the immunisation schedule now, so if you don't want to have it done you prob need the CO/exemption form done to be eligible for the maternity immunisation allowance

The maternity immunisation allowance doesn't worry me. His 19 month's now and the $140(?) doesn't make me run out the door to get it done. He will get it some time when I get to The DR.

I think the bigger catch is childcare/preschool benefits that are missed out on without the vaccine or CO form. I think the 50% tax rebate for childcare is also effected

DS doesn't go to child care and I couldn't get the 50% tax rebate even if he did go as I don't meet the study work or on DSP rule.

Thats lucky....
After your post I went and had a look at the CDA website into shingles etc and its interesting to note the rate of shingles has doubled in the past 4 years. I am glad we decided to take a wide berth of this in our family :)

From the government website, the immunisation schedule from birth to 65+ years of age:

I got paid the maternity immunisation allowance two days ago $122.75. But He still hasn't got the chicken pox immunisation. The guy at centrelink think's that the 18 month immunisation is one that you can miss if you want too?

Hi Everyone,
Just thought i would ask anyone who has been in this situation, my dd got the chickenpox when she was 9months, my dh had the shingles and thats how she got the cp.
I would say she got a good dose of the cp. She is now 18months i believe their is a vac for chickenpox for them to have.
However i feel she doesnt need this
Has anyone else been in this situation, of course the doctor says to vac her , i think this could be waste of time.

If she has had chicken pox, she does not need the vaxx. Your GP will tell you that. My DD is in high school and does not receive the vaxx as she had chicken pox as a child.
