View Full Version : Has anyone conceived with a short luteal phase (LP)?
Im a little worried as my cycles have become shorter and Im still ovulating late in my cycle. I think my LP is somewhere around 7-9days, I plan to start taking vitamin B6 suppliments at the end of this cycle to try and lengthen my LP, but Im just curious is it possible to conceive with such a short LP? Has anyone done it?
I had a shortish LP (but never under 10 days) & I found the only cycles that I conceived in I had O'd early in the cycle. That's probably not much help to you though, because I don't know of any way of making O happen early.
Some say Vitex lengthens your cycle but I didn't find that it did & I also had two early losses whilst on it & then success as soon as I stopped it.
Good luck.

Hiya
I had a 36 day cycle with a ovulation taking place on CD 26.. therefore a 10 day LP
Good luck :hugs:
Thanks ladies FX it holds off long enough to stick (assuming we caught the egg :D )
Hi,
Before conceiving DS2 I consistently had a 10 day LP - never under 10 days though. I did try taking Vitamin B6 and one cycle I noticed it went to 11 days but thats the only real shift I noticed. Then I fell pregnant the following cycle so 10-11 days is obviously enough, but from what I've heard, anything shorter than 10 days can definitely be a problem. I've heard about the vitext too but can't share any personal experience sorry - are you able to speak to a Naturopath about it? they are often good with fertility problems and recommending various herbs etc to help out people with short cycles & short LP's.
Good luck!
