View Full Version : Kids movie suggestions!
I'm thinking of buying a few kids DVD's for my collection but prefer classics such as Lion King, Mary Poppins, Aladdin, Prince of Egypt, etc etc.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Or what are favorites among your kids?
Has anyone seen/can comment on the following movies?
- Emperor's New Groove
- Hunchback of Notre Dame
- Muppets in Space
- Muppet Christmas Carol
- Chicken Little
- Road to El Dorado
TIA! :D
Finding Nemo is a big hit with all the kiddies I know. Monsters Inc went down a treat, too.

My son likes Shrek. His absolute favorite is Findin Nemo though...he LOVES the turtles! :)
depends on the ages of kids.... but we have / love :
Finding Nemo (safe for even littlies to watch)
Piglets Big Movie - excellent for rainy days when older dd was 18mo - 2 1/2 yo
The Tigger Movie
have Bambi and Monsters Inc but think more for 3-5 yo
I love Disney but I notice that Disney only brings out some of their movies in a special edition or during a certain period only. For instance I managed to buy Beauty and the Beast a few years ago as part of a "special collection" but I haven't been able to see it since!! I can't find the Little Mermaid!!
What do you think of all the sequels to the big ones like Lion King 2, Mulan2, etc? As good as the originals?
BTW - I love musicals and the ones with music because then I can sing along to them!
Thanks for all your help!!

Emperor's New Groove - seen it and my younger siblings loved it :)
- Hunchback of Notre Dame- i wouldnt let a child under 7 watch this it could freak them out a bit and they wouldnt understand whats going on
- Muppets in Space- ds loves this movie
- Muppet Christmas Carol-great movie
- Chicken Little-haventseen it but hear its good
- Road to El Dorado-never seen it
Good luck finding a copy of the little mermaid, its as rare as hens teeth! I think they do it on purpose, and Im not sure but I dont think it has ever been released on dvd, only video, someone else might know more than me though.
I believe that Disney do this to keep demand high, and keep the income coming in from rental (they get a royalty from all the rentals). It's annoying as lots of Disney movies are hard to get on Video/DVD.
