:smiliedance: I used to love doing that at school, i remember my mum would take us to the op shops, we would pick out stuff for our costumes and she would sew them to make them look edsactly like the ones in the books :D look through your videos/dvd covers and see what is on them, disney have the best.
off the top of my head I can think of
peter pan
a pirate

Isn't Prince Charming the only boy in fairlytales?!
Seriously, Spotlight's Sparty's section sells really cool dress up and costumes - so maybe have a look there?
Geenie.
Red cardboard to make a fes (black tassle on top)
white shirt.
A bright coloured vest
large sized pants.
and give him something that looks like a lamp... i don't know... a gravy boat?
And if it does work, I bags the first 3 wishes!
God knows I need them today!

I would have said prince charming, or one of the dwarves from Snow White, Shrek (is he classed as a fairtytale character?)
Oh, do you have Shrek on dvd? Maybe have a look in the first couple of scenes cos there's alot of 'fairytale creatures' in that one.
There's Tom Thumb, the Pied (sp?) piper, ummm, who's the one from the sword and the stone? King Arthur?
I like the Genie idea though, that one sounds pretty easy.

How about The Beast, from Beauty and the Beast. You could find a scary mask somewhere and a long-hair wig from Crazy Clarkes. Boys like to dress up as monsters don't they?
Thank you lovely ladies for replying. I was in kmart today and saw a knight costume which I bought for my son and only cost $20. I thought this might be good as he like medieval stuff but now I am at home I am thinking what fairytales have a knight in them?:o
By the way Lut I really love the Genie idea, it is very clever I just bought this other costume as it was all there ready to go. I am pretty lazy;)

What about a woodsman-they are in many fairytales (Red riding hood etc...) All you need is a big shirt, a thick belt and a hat of some description and maybe boots. You could make a simple axe from cardboard.:)

No prob Elfin.
I knew I wouldn't be lucky enough to get the 3 wishes! Oh well...
I can see where the ready to go costume would be a winner to be honest.
King Arthur would be the one you would need to tell DS Elfin.
He is from the Fairy Tale King Arthur! LOL
