View Full Version : Clothes shopping (hoping for a baby bump)

With all the sales around at the moment, my eyes continue to fleet towards all the maternity clothes there are around at the moment. I mean, fashion itself is quite favourable of a baby bump - tight boob tubes, flowy tops, dresses with gathering in the centre etc etc.

I have done my fair share of shopping over the last few weeks, and before every purchase of a new piece of clothing I consider if it will be suitable to wear once I have a baby bump...

Is it just me? Or are other women doing the same thing? :confused:

Pink Lady - I've been doing it too! I was in Cue on the weekend and saw this great dress for work that I thought would be such a good style for a bump. But I told myself off for thinking that way, and decided that I shouldn't think about it until I actually have a bump to worry about.

Was that a beige dress? With a rounded low neck?

I walked past Cue too, saw that , liked it and thought, damn, its one of those silly dresses that make you look pregnant....

!!!!! Happy to say I can now wear normal fashions, they will fit and it wont matter cause I wil be pregnant.

I do have a couple of baby-doll type dops (flare out under the bust) that I have always joked would be great when pregnant...

Last time I cleaned out my wardrobe I didnt throw anything that was too big for me away! I have stored it all in a spare room incase I ever need to break into it if/when I get pregnant! lol

I am soooo looking forward to the day I can shop in a maternity wear shop. There are some really nice looking maternity clothes out now-a-days and I have my eye on a couple of shops I want to visit! :D

Hi Toad. No it was a black dress, but I noticed quite a few of their new season stuff could be pg-friendly.

Hey Pinky,

Pumpkin patch have a really nice range on sale now, and i couldnt help myself but go in and dream! Thye have these really nice kaftan type white shirts, so pretty with a bump under them!

cant WAIT to go preggie shopping, gotta find my bump first! hehe WHERE ARE YOU BUMP!

I am guilty of it too, and we arent even ttc.

Wishful thinking i guess. The pumpkin patch stuff it so pretty!

Phew! :p I'm glad that I'm not the only one who keeps on thinking about the imminent bump that we all want under a new kaftan top (that one sounds lovely collyspark!)

I dont mean to - it just kind of... happens! LOL :laughing:

I am currently avoiding buying clothes (normal ones) at the moment until I am pregnant. Don't want to buy it, then not be able to fit into it anymore.
