What counts as a first word for you? What age was the first words uttered by your bubba(s)?
DF swore that Liam said "Dad" tonight..I thought he said "gad" and it doesn't count ;) (I'm waiting for mama!)

I love when the bubba's start chatting away!! Brady has been saying ma and mummum for the last few weeks. He first started with ba, ba and now he says da, dud, da which we presume or hope is actually dad! LOL!!
How cute do they sound:D

DS said mum and showed meaning of the word around 12 months
DD1 said mum and dad and showed meaning of the words at 10 months, now at 12 months says half a dozen words with meaning... bub for her sister, doily for her dolly.. and so on :)
Both started making the sounds of the words a lot earlier but didnt show meaning of it til later :)

I think DD's first word was "dog." She said mama and dada and other sounds before that...but I don't count them as proper first words because she was just making sounds...not actually speaking.
She says dog (or what sounds like dog anyway) whenever she sees or hears the dog. She actually calls our cat "dog" as well, but I figure she just can't understand why one furry creature is different from another...
EJ said ok at about 4 weeks my BF heard her also no one believed us until her grandma heard her say Ok also - She still uses OK and it seems she knows what it means. She also says good girl or just good, ah lo (hello), mum and daddy - she said ah lo dad to my BF the other day lol which he was real happy about:) She's been known to say ungry (hungry) also in the past
At present everything is mum, mum, mum, mum especially if she likes her food that shes eating lol

I still haven't had mummum  or dada (but that is OK!!) but I swear she says Hada (hello) as that is the most common thing said to her, but yeasterday we were walking through the shops and she was saying blah blah blah - for a bubby she actually does the "L" sound really well!!!!!
