hi
no ham, im not sure if its ok if hot but i avoid it altogther altho i love it..i only eat meat that has just been cooked so i would eat real turkey (not cold cut) if it was hot...i dont any prepared / salads unless i make it myself that day, all above listeria risk i think..im sure trifle is ok.
chocolate is ALWAYS ok :D
I stuck mostly to sweets this year, and while everyone was eating leftovers I just had a salad and cheese sandwich. Not very exciting but I figure once the food has been sitting out on the table and then has been rewrapped and reheated it's probably not that great for pregnant women. It's a shame seeing all that yummy food and not being able to eat it but I just think about Christmas next year with bub :)
Yeah Nikki cheese sangas are the way to go eh! DH got creative on Boxing Day by making pizza with the leftovers so I was able to enjoy some more ham heehee

I'd be a bit funny about the meat, anything with egg and cream in it, and cheese but that's just me. I avoid meat all the time though  but definately when pregnant I'd avoid leftover of those descriptions unless it had been kept in the fridge and not on the table.
I eat everything.....ham as it's off the bone and has been in the fridge as well as all the other cold meat. Salads i am careful of though, usually only freshly made ones but i'm sure all of the cold meat is ok if it has been in the fridge the whole time and not left out.
Hi all.
Jetgirl - I think you've posted as excellent question. My poor morning sickness wife would kill for a cup of good coffee...that's all the poor girl wants. Pregnancy is cruel hey!
I heard processed meats and that type of cheese with the blue veins going through it should be avoided.
Love & Peace to all

Paul I thought you could have one coffee a day? I have 2 teas a day...
I've been told by my doctor that 1-2 coffee's per day are fine, but drinking lots of water is really important regardless. I don't drink softdrinks or much juice so my one coffee a day is my way to start the day. I didn't drink coffee in the first three months though just to be safe.
There is a site about listeria for Australia, every country appears to say different things though so it's a bit of a 'new' consideration when it comes to pregnancy I suspect. This is a government site about it relating to Australia. http://www.foodstandards.gov.au/consumerinformation/listeria/
At the end of the day I think you just have to do what you feel you are comfortable with, it's your baby and all you can do is be informed and make the choice that you feel is best.
Hi all
Jet & Nikki - I hear what you're saying about 1 or 2 cups per day. Wifey is very fussy about her coffee and says instant is an insult to her palate. hehehehe... I kind of agree with her, so she's staying off even the instant. She is so much stronger than me, I doubt I could live without a good flat white in the morning.
Cheers and kindest regards to all
