My 10 month old DS has had a virus and has had dioherea for about 2 days. He just had another movement with a little bit of mucousy blood in there. Should I be concerned?

this happened to Hunter a few weeks ago when he was really sick. It was there for about 2 days, i called that nurse on call number & she said if it was still there tomorrow then take a sample in to the Dr's for testing... it didnt happen again which was good & hasnt happened since.
she explained it can be from diahrea & straining :( poor little bodies...
if it continues for a few more days or gets worse id do what she told me to do
hope he is ok :hugs:

Often diarrhoea and vomiting can damage the mucosa (lining) of the bowel and stomach and cause some bleeding, especially if its been going on for a few days. Keep an eye on it and if you are concerned, or if his condition changes (more lethargic, pale, sweaty, increased vomiting/diarrhoea then take him to see a doctor (probably only emergency departments open tomorrow unfortunately). Good luck, hope he is ok.
