Hi girls :)

Hoping I can get some general opinions...

I am aware that endo can't be positively diagnosed before actually cutting me open to take a squiz, but what do you girls think?...

DH & I have now been TTC for about 15 months & plan on visiting the GP in the new year.

AF set in for me at almost 16yo. Was fine for a year, then I got quite severe AF pain. I was put on the pill which helped, until TTC.

I've been off the pill now for about 18months & was fine at first. Cycle was long but has finally adjusted to 28/29 days. I am finding AF pain is getting more uncomfortable each month. The most yucky part is really uncomfortable back pain, wind - seems to be connected to icky tummy as well. And the last couple of months, I've had the back pain set in mid cycle.

When speaking to my GP, should I request a laparoscopy? I've previously had clear ovary ultrasounds, so no PCO or anything like that. Otherwise I'm pretty healthy, a little chubby :D I just want to get it all sorted so that hubby & I can realise the dream of children as soon as possible :)

Sorry for the long post! Would so appreciate responses. Merry Christmas :D

I was in a similar situation, I wasn't trying to get pregnant but I was experiencing bad pain during my period. I decided to consult the GP who referred me to Gyno last year. I had the Op done in May this year. We started trying to conceive and I fell pregnant first go. I think Endometriosis definitely would have affected my chances of getting pregnant. I'm a bit overweight and always had irregular periods but definetly think the Op is a good idea. They can't detect endometriosis but it's a very minor same day op and worth every cent!

Hi mandipiee & annamac, I actually posted this a while back and A LOT has happened since. I still don't know exactly what caused pain during my period, but I do know that the more recent pain was not due to endo. Surgeons have now been in there having a squiz & I have no endo. What I did have (and who knows if it was related to the pain) was cervical cancer. I have just undergone trachelectomy (removal of the majority of the cervix) and lymphadenectomy (removal of adominal lymph nodes). I'm now all clear and currently recovering from surgery :)

Oh, and my fertility is actually fab - turns out hubby's swimmers were preventing us conceiving.

OOps! I saw the date on Mandy's post but didn't look at the original date :o

Wow you have been through a lot, I am sure it has been a hard few months for you, I take my hat off to you, you sound amazingly chirpy. Good luck on your journey :hugs:

Congrats to you! That would have been something a little bigger to go through than Endo. Did you ever have the Cervical Cancer vaccines? I was just curious cause they were available a few years ago and it crossed my mind, that they didn't work? Well I'm sorry for your news but on the bright side, great that it's all gone :) Good luck with the future! :D

Hey mandypiee, yes I had my 3 Gardasil shots. I am also absolutely pro-protective sex and 100% spot on with pap smears (always normal before the most recent one). It's very lucky I had that attitude as my cancer was very aggressive and if I hadn't had my scheduled pap test, who knows what could have been...

But yes, thank you, I am so thrilled my surgeon was brilliant and got it all outta there! :D
