My bubba is 12 months, (just about), and she is struggling with hitting herself on her cots bars at night and waking up. Currently the only way she will sleep is in our big queen bed, but only if there is one person in it so she can roll around. The difference with her sleeping in the big bed is 6 hours uninterrupted sleep compared to hour by hour in her cot. Can anyone tell me if they have moved a bub this early into a bed? We thought we would make it very safe for falls, but were unsure about it still.

Thanks

I moved DS1 into a bed at 10mths, DD at 12mths and DS2 at 7mths. I think the earlier you do it, the easier it is. Mine were so young that they didn't bother getting up 50 times, they didn't cry and say they didn't want to go to bed etc etc.

I'd put her in a bed and see how she goes. Put the cot mattress on the floor next to it so that she can get in and out easy, just push it under the bed during the day so no one trips over it. I never used a safety rail with my kids, but they are another option.

I put my DD into a bed at 17 months as she was climbing out of her cot. She loves her new bed and doesn't wake up all that often during the night now. Maybe you should get a bed but keep the cot up just in case she doesn't take to the bed. Or maybe just try a day sleep in the bed so she gets used to it and then and once she is alright with the day sleeps put her in for the night as well

If she wont sleep in it at night, put her to bed in the cot and then move her when you go to bed, I did this with DS1 and he never went back to a cot after that one night. He was fine in the bed during the day, but night time was a different story until I did that.
