I am really over being the sole parent today.

I have been gardening. not fun gardening. shovelling rocks kinda gardening.

so of course inside the house has become a bit messy.
I get so frustrated that it's always a trade off. Do something outside that gets done but whoops double the work inside when I come in or stay inside and make sure kids are supervised and fed and inside chores done but oh no the yard is a weedy dustbowl with tumbleweeds of rubbish blowing around.

I don't think I am too hopeless or lazy, and I do have my kids working alongside me for some of the time but my reality seems to be to get anything major done the kids get bored and then because I am busy and can't supervise them while I am doing something they just make a huge mess everywhere I am not.

Looking after kids is a full time job for one adult and I get really sick of being on my own. I have a 13yr old but she is not like having another adult.

plus I am just in a general funk [read as- I have turned into a grumpy *****] because I don't much like shovelling rocks. it is not fun work and I wish I had someone here with me to do it with and make it more fun.
well back to work.

yep, know where you're coming from there

I have a friend who helps with the yard, which I'm very grateful for. I have to weed and tend the vegie garden when they have gone to bed (if I do it while they are playing outside they try to join in and trample everything)

it's very tough being on your own, you are doing a fabulous job to even attempt to shovel rocks. If it was me i would put it off ... for ever.

Could you take a picnic rug and some food out for them?

take care and I hope you enjoy the fruits of your labour soon xo

thankyou so much ladies for being a shoulder to whinge on!

I have accomplished something. the rocks are where I want them now. I just have left overs that still need shovelling to some other place....

also the monotony was broken up by one of our neighbours slicing themselves open with a stanley knife and needing first aid help. ouch.

made my day seem really really good though.

Oh Meme :hugs: I completely get it! It is impossible to do absolutely everything and it gets a bit frustrating doesn't it. Just not enough hours in the day!!

Tough, hey? It feels nigh impossible to get stuff done at times, bloody exhausting.

I hope you have a lovely relaxing xmas :)
