Con a 16mth old kicking, screaming, flailing child into having their toe nails & finger nails cut ????????????

Im seriously going insane !!!!!! :banghead:

Boof will not even allow me to hold his hand long enough to cut them now !!!
Before i was able to cut a couple every few days as he would allow this & sit still long enough but now its a forgotten memory !!

How do i do it without lopping his finger or toes off ??
Any suggestions ??

Maybe an iceblock might keep him from thinking about the nailcut - he'll just need to switch hands when you need him to... In this cold weather though, maybe a lollypop or something might be better...

I don't suppose that a boy is interested in being rewarded with nail polish...

We sing "this little piggy" or "round and round the garden" and in between I snip - has worked with both of them at around that age - while they are laughing and giggling you snip away!

I've just started a bit of good old fashioned bribery with my 18 month old - if she lets me brush her teeth properly she gets a stamp on her hand (or I draw a star on it in felt pen - classy!). We started that when she was 17 months, so maybe it would work? If you draw something on his hand it might keep him distracted for a minute anyway........... or not

He loves "round & round" but giggles so much i doubt id get to do it !!! But when it comes to "this little piggy" he loathes it i think he is like me & hates having his feet touched :( But who knows will maybe try a game somehow it might work !

Ive tried bribery with his playing with things he shouldnt even to the point one nite i gave him the baby friendly nail clippers while i used the normal ones to show him i do this one you do that one sorta thing but to no avail *sigh*.
Who knows maybe a stamp will work i will try anything at this rate !!!!
