Of sitting on the toilet that is. I have tried the potty but he is too big for all of them, and i have put one of those inserts in the toilet as well as a high step so his feet are stable when he is sitting. But he just gets really upset and cries and reaches out to me when I put him on there. he is 3 1/2 so I atleast want him to get used to sitting on there first thing in the morning when we get up. I have tried storied, toys, singing... But none of it makes him happy to sit there. i have had an open door rule for over a year and he always comes in and watches me go and is fine with that (though I wish I had some peace).

Does anyone have any other ideas I can try? I know he has other issues so maybe he just isn't ready, but I do think that the longer I leave it the harder it is going to get.

PLEASE HELP!!!

I'm not proud of this but my DD wouldn't sit on the potty either, eventhough she was aware of when she was weeing/pooing etc and seemed ready to TT.
We offered her a lolly snake to sit on the potty and do a wee/poo. It worked.
Good luck.

what about some kind of reward chart starting with a sticker or stamp just for sitting on the toilet and moving up to a jelly baby or something little if he does a wee while he is there.
rewards seem to work wonders for my toddler though i do realise she is younger than your DS but she will do pretty much anything for a 'suprise'.
