hey my ds2 is 10mths now,
he is breastfed on demand.

at night he has dinner (solids) at around 5pm, then bath, and is having his last breastfeed at 6pm, asleep by 6:30-7pm.

i dreamfeed him at 10pm, and he sleeps thru til about 5:30am-6am.

am just wondering when is a good time to drop the dreamfeed?

or when did you and what were your experiences? thanks!

I am just about to try this as well (tho we bottle feed). I have been advised to gradully bring the feed forward until you are giving it at 9pm, and at the same time if you want to reduce the amount given, for breasties you should reduce the time or offer one side or so I have been told.

DD2 has been unwell so we haven't done it yet, I am going to start giving it at 9.45 for a few nights and see how we go.

Doesnt it kill you staying up for a dreamfeed at 10 then starting the day at 5.30? Its killing me! Needless to say I should be in bed now not back on BH!!

 definately! especially when my DF works nightshift! he gets home at around 2am, so i either have to go to bed at 7pm sleep til 10pm, wake up for half hour to feed, then go back to sleep til he gets home (he calls me to let me know hes on his way, i stress about him driving) so then i stay up with him for a hour or so, 2-3am, then go to bed from 3-whenever bub wakes..usually 5;30am!! bah! no wonder i have trouble stringing a sentance together!

thankyou for your reply! :)

I would reduce the amounts and give earlier as a PP said.

I did this for my DS.

But now with my DD, she has a 200ml bottle at 6.30pm. I used to give dreamfeed of 200ml at 10.30, then it was 150ml at 10pm and now I've just started 100ml at 9.30, and I will do that for another few weeks as DD is not yet 8mo. I'll keep it like that while the going is good

Aslo when you do, maybe stretch dinner to 5.30 and breastfeed at 6.30-7pm maybe?
