View Full Version : August Melbourne Mums Meet!
Well i think it's time to start thinking about our next meet.
I think an indoor play centre is going to be the way to go as it is bound to be cold & wet. And somewhere more central for everyone. The city was mentioned at our dinner meet but i don't know of any play centres in the city. Anyone have any ideas?
Billy Lids in Hawthorn is the only one i can think of that is close. Or Rare Bears in Camberwell.
And what does everyone think of the 4th August or the 11th August?
Please bring on the ideas/suggestions.
~~~I have added a multiple choice poll now to help decide the date~~~~~
Hi Everyone :wave:
I think Rare Bears in Camberwell sounds Great and either date suits us fine but what time anyone??? I'm looking forward to finally being able to meet some of the fantastic BubHub Mums here in Melbourne after not being able o go to any previous meets.
Are we going to have our Bubhub ribbons with us??? Anyway l'm looking forward to reading this thread more to get the details.
Hi
I'd love to meet some bubhub mums too (haven't had a chance so far). The Camberwell or Hawthorn play centres are both really close to us, so either would suit.
As for dates the 11th August would suit us:smiliedance: .
Looking forward to it!:D
cheers
Georgia
Hope you will all have a good time:) Camberwell though is a little far for us i think so don't think i'll be able to make it
Sounds good to me. The last day meet was at Rare Bears and as I only have a bubba I'm not fussed as to which centre. The 11th is Ok with me too, but i think some of the mums are only available Tues and/or Thurs. I guess we will soon find out. Maybe a poll again to select the date?:)
Hmm... depending on the time of day, this might be a goer for us too. :thumbsup:
Yay! :smiliedance:
Will keep my eye out for what is decided based on majority!:D
Me,me,me * Hand stretching up high*, can I come too?
Either day suits me, just give me a time and place. Rare Bears worked well last time, but I'm really not fussed.
I am easy for location
Tuesdays or Fridays are fine for me
Thursdays are no good
Count me in! Friday the 11th is leading at the moment!
Any date except August 1st is fine with me, thats my 21st :)
I'd be keen to try Billy Lids (http://www.billylids.com/default.asp?cid=1046&t=Home). The last time we went to Rare Bears, Eloise came home with that horrible gastro. :(
(For those on public transport, it's very close to the corner of Power St & Burwood Rd which is on the 75 tram route and is also walking distance from Glenferrie station.)
I'm happy with any day - majority rules.
I'm there with bells on! But will we have to wear our bubhub names on a tag so we know who's who?!?!?! :rolleyes:
Can't do Tuesdays as we have playgroup so I have voted for Friday 11th.
Blimp woman and child available any day......unless I'm in delivery suite!!:D
We're there! Friday the 11th suits us and we would like to try Billy Lids but we are very flexible with days, times and locations.
Georgia
Place: Billy Lids (http://www.billylids.com/default.asp?cid=1052&t=Location) Indoor Playcentre
Because this is my first, we decided to go private so i will be delivering at St John of God, but 2nd round i will definitely be looking at Casey after your recommendations. I just can't justify the expenses of private health which i though we would have been better off with yet i don't feel we get anything much for our $$ worth. Oh well....you live and learn i guess.
I had my son at St John of God in August last year and thought they were fantastic!!! I've since moved to the Western suburbs and would drive over an hour to St John of God to have my second one!!! You will definately be in good hands, all the best.
Hey guys i made a boo-boo... :(
I said that we would be able to come on Friday the 11th but completely forgot that Samuel has his Grommets Operation that morning !!
So sorry guys we wont be seeing you there but definantly next time !
helo Ladies,
Just thought i would pop by to read what everyone is up to and how the dinner plans are coming along. I haven't been posting much myself of late just busy reading as i have been in too grumpy a mood to post.
I was hoping to have given birth by now (yes i know still not due for a couple of days but wishful thunking never hurt anyone) but still playing the dreaded waiting game.
Hope you are all well and looking forward to having some exciting news soon to share. At leats it all means i will be able to make it to the next dinner after this August one anyway.
Have a great weekend all!
P.S Razzle....i love your new avitar. Gorgeous!!
Tracey I am sorry you won't be coming. My niece had the same op 2 weeks ago and was fine but the operation did knock her around a bit.
Hope all goes well.
would love to meet some melbourn mum but I am only free on weekends as i am a working mum
Does anyone know if we need to book or do we just all show up? I have never been to a play centre with a group before.:o
we can just show up but would probbly be a good idea to book in case they're really busy and then we'll be sure to have a table and whatnot
Liv and I will be there with bells on. :smiliedance:
I am really looking forward to the meet on Friday. This play centre sounds pretty good.
I have booked a large table under 'Angela'. I will try to get there early and i will have a pink bubhub tag on my nappy bag which i will put on the table.
Look forward to seeing you all there.
Eloise and I will be there, might be a little late, but I'll do my best.
:smiliedance:We'll be there too! I will keep an eye out for ribbons as I don't have mine yet.
I'll try to remember to bring a couple of extra ribboms for those that don't have theirs yet!
Us too.!!:smiliedance:
If my 2 will co-operate and let me get them ready without giving me a breakdown, we hope to come and meet you all. :yelclap:
It's going to have to be a wait and see for us to see how we are both feeling. After being at the Children's Hospital on the weekend, I think I have 5 different strains of a cold.
Hamish and I are coming! We will have our slightly chewed and sucked on :o pink ribbon. *Note to self-don't hang the ribbon in a place that the baby can reach it!* :rolleyes:
you're a gem razzle, thanks!
Oh Chelle I know how you feel. Remember at the dinner I had lost my voice? Well, that cold or whatever is still hanging around, and it's driving me nuts. I think we've all just been passing it back and forth to eachother.
Oh Chelle, I hope you are feeling better by Friday. It would be great to see you again .
Bad news girls :thumbsdown: (well for me and Eloise anyway!) We can't come after all! I have to go into the office on Friday morning, I tried to make it tomorrow but can't. :crying:
I guess I'll have to catch up with you all another time...
Rachel, what a bummer that you and Eloise can't make it tomorrow. :(
Hi girls. I don't think I'll be coming tomorrow either, I think I just had a contraction. :eek:
It may be a false alarm, but I definately don't want to deliver a baby in a jumping castle, so I think I'll stay close to home just in case. :D
How exciting Cathy!! :fingerscrossed: :smiliedance:
No I'd stay home too - don't want your waters breaking in the ball pit either! :laughing:
Very exciting Cathy - make sure you take a jar of pickles with you if you go out. If your waters break you just throw the jar on the ground and pretend you dropped the pickles!!!
Hope to hear about Stephanie's arrival soon.
Good advice, thanks Megan. Knowing me though, I'd spend half an hour searching through my bottomless handbag for the jar and then wouldn't be able to get the lid off. :laughing:
No further action today..... I think it was just a tease this morning. Hope you all have a wonderful time tomorrow.
Thanks Aijent. Hope your house of germs recovers soon... gastro is so yucky.
Looking forward to getting my tt's back (that's the tt's in wattle) and being able to propel forwards when I walk instead of swaying sideways like a drunken pirate with a watermelon stuck up my shirt. :laughing: Oh, it will be rather lovely to meet my little girl too.:smiliedance:
Oh Cathy, how exciting!!!:smiliedance: I hope it's time and you get to meet your beautiful baby girl soon.
Girls I'm really sorry but I'm not going to be able to make it this morning. I asked my hubby for some money - he had none - neither do I and we have $19 in the bank until Tuesday.
I am very disappointed as I have been looking forward to this all week.
Hopefully we can have another meet up soon.
Have fun
Hope you had fun today guys! I am just about to head back to bed :(
WELL.. evidently I didn't make it either. :thumbsdown:
My internet has been down since last night, and only just came back up.
I couldn't remember where it was exactly, and also wasn't sure if it was still going ahead. (I only remembered that it was a good hours drive for me.. so couldn't be anywhere near there by the time my internet was back up. :mad: )
Sorry all! I'm very disappointed.
We were all dressed and ready too, inthe hope that it might be back up at the last minute and we'd hit the road...
Even though we only had a little group today, Coban and I had a lovely time. Although i'm sure Coban would have liked to have been off playing more.:) Thanks to Sal, Georgia & Tracey for a great morning and we look forward to catching up with you all again soon.
Cathy- Any more contractions??
Tracey(samsmum04)- I hope everything has gone well with Samuel's operation. And I hope Ethan is doing well too. We are thinking of you sweetie.:hugs:
Hi Angela
thanks so much for organising this morning. It was lovely to meet you and Sally and Tracy - it seems we were the only ones spared from nasty bugs and bung PC's.
thanks for making me feel so welcome.
hope that those who are sick are starting to feel better and we'll see you there next time...:hugs:
cheers
Georgia
Hi everyone. Sounds like those who made it along had a lovely time.
Nope - not one eensy teeny little contraction. Zip. Zilch. Nothing. Grrrr how much longer do I have to be patient for?????? Oh well, it's gotta happen sooner or later. I'm sure she's not planning on staying in there until her 18th birthday..........:eek:
Thanks for a great day today, ladies. It was lovely to meet you Georgia and Angela and, as always, great to see you again, Tracy. Hamish and i had fun chatting and playing and look forward to doing it again next time! Once again, thank-you to Angela for organising the day.:thumbsup:
Cathy, how disappointing for you! Those last few weeks are the longest ever! I was convinced I was having our baby every day for 10 days-Hamish hung on until 2 days before his date.:D
That's great news, Tracey. I hope both of your gorgeous boys are well and Ethan is feeling better. I'm not sure if I told you in another post but when my nephew had his ears done, he woke up saying, "Mummy I can hear you!" :D
Thanks Sal, you had told me about your nephew.. actually i have told so many people that story as i think it is so adorable and touching... and heart wrenching (in a good way!)
When Samuel woke up he said "where'd go?" hehe he was talking about his precious ducky which he couldnt find in the bed :p
We are already seeing a huge change in his speaking so thats really exciting
:smiliedance:
and Ethan is heaps better also thanks :hugs:
I'm so glad to hear it Trace!! I can't wait to see them both! (And you of course.LOL)
Any news from Cathy?
thanks Angela i look forward to seeing COBAN too ! LOL (and you too :laughing: )
I have my fingers crossed that you don't have to wait much longer Cathy!!
I'm getting all excited now. LOL
