View Full Version : Where to donate toys for Christmas pressies?
I have a massive box of toys I want to give away and donate as Christmas pressies. They aren't wrapped, and I don't have the motivation or paper to do that, so am thinking the KMart wishing tree is probably not somewhere to put them. They are also used, but in excellent condition, so another reason not to put them under the KMart tree.
I was wondering, who could I give them to? I don't want to put them in the Good Sammies bin, as I am guessing they will go straight into the shop, and I want children to get these pressies for free, and not have to be bought.
I am in Perth.
Where can I give these things away? Anywhere?

I'd give them to the Kmart Wishing Tree.
Do you know they actually have to unwrap all the wrapped gifts anyway ... to check the contents are suitable for the age nominated and to just check the contents in general.
So I don't think they'll be phased by you donating unwrapped gifts ... what a lovely thoughtful person you are!

DO a google and see if there is a womans shelter near you.
I volunteer at a a womans shelter, many women over the christmas period after finally leaving their abusive husband are at shelters with their children with no belongings at all.

We donated some gifts to a healing centre for adults and children who are suffering from childhood trauma.
Ok, so just looking at the Smith's family toy & book appeal... I will also look into the women's refuges. Great suggestions!
