Ladies,
I need your valued opinion:yes:
Today I took my bub to play with other kids for the first time (she is one year old) and she only spends time with me on our backyard or at the local park, she hardly sees any kids...
So she was very keen on playing with kids however she was too small for them and she was moving towards them and was very interested in one boy (cos he was only 2 years old I think), she touched his arm and smiled at him all the time - very cute:p but he kept on moving away from her as he was playing with other boys and was busy:D
So she started to cry once she realized that he won't play with her, I was playing with her but she was interested only in kids...
So we had to leave as she won't stop crying...
I feel sorry for her and a bit scared to take her to a playground again in case there would be only older kids there again...
What do I do? Shall I keep looking till I find a place with little kids suitable for her or she should be able to cope and play with older kids as well?
As we do not mix with kids a lot:) I am just wondering as I do not want to harm her by upsetting her taking her to the wrong places...are there any rules with whom they suppose to play at such age?:o:D

Maybe go to playgroup where there are children of all ages for her to play with. What about mothers' group?

I do not have mothers' group, I was unwell once had a bub and missed our local mother's group meetings...
I have one friend who has a small girl but she lives quite far so I am going to see her once a week from now on so our girls can play...
We do not have small kids in our area but I will keep on looking in close by areas...as she probably needs younger kids to play...that's what I thought but wanted to check:)

Which state are you in? Are you in a rural area?

Playgroup is a great idea!

But persist with the parks.. It takes some time (and some looking about at different parks/different times) Roar got use to "some kids will play, some kids won't" by about 19 months, and the attention became more about the equipment. (thou she still loves to play with the kids when she can!)

Indoor play centres are good too. They normally have an area for younger children.

We are in NSW, not a rural but I do not drive so during a day we just spend all time around our house in a near by park...
But I spoke to my hubby and he is happy to drive us to playgroup once I found one:confused:
We live at Greenwich so Lane Cove is very close to us and that's where I took her today...
Maybe they have small kids there just on different days:)
Do you think out local health care nurse would know something about playgroups in the area?

so if she keeps on crying I just try to comfort her and not take her home and she will get used to it one day?
sorry if it is sounds stupid but she just got very upset and I thought that I just take her home...and find her small kids if I can:)

Thank you!
I'll try Lane Cove on Friday at 10:) as they have french people on other 2 days in a different group (if I understood the type of playgroup correctly - French) and we do not speak French...probably does not matter as she does not speak at all:)

Have a look on Playgroups Australia website & see if there is a group near you.

Thank you, I found two but one starts at the time when she is sleeping, I will try another one which starts later...
Do I have to e-mail them or something or can we just show up and join?:o

Try the Bubhub directory to see if it has any playgroup or similar listed close to you. (You can find it on the purple bar up the top of your screen) :D

You can just show up to playgroup and you can go to twice to see if you like it before you have to join.

My playgroup is $3 and we take a piece of fruit and all the fruit is cut up for morning tea for the kids.

Every playgroup is different, just go and see what it's like  Good luck.

We have our health nurse recommending our mothers group to other women in the area with similar aged kids- so Yep I would ask your health nurse.
And at 1 they will probably be more than greatful for more people to attend as you tend to lose a few mums when they go back to work after having the 12 month maternity leave.
