Is it just something to do with me that screams HELP ME PLEASE I DONT KNOW WHAT IM DOING! or does everyone get those annoying people that everytime you take ur bubby out and they cry a little, all of a sudden these people you dont even know are telling you whats wrong with YOUR baby!!
and it seems to be mostly really old people.
i'm at the point where i just want to scream at them!

ok fair enough i know people just want to be helpful, but its so frustrating!

i had a lady tell me once that my son was hungry. ( i had just fed him, burped him, and changed his nappy!) so when i politely said he had just been fed of course she said he has wind, which surprise surprise was wrong again! after bugging me for 5 minutes while im trying to get on with my shopping, i finally cracked it and not so politely told her exactly what was wrong with him and to p*ss off coz she was just making things worse.

please someone tell me its not just me that this happens to

Nope not just you!! :D Happens to me all the time!! Actually I have found the worst is my friends and family that for some strange reason decide halfway through me feeding DD, (when she's having her burp break) that she's tired and needs to be put to sleep  So the sweep in for 'cuddles' and put her to sleep... (of course she wakes up 5mins later because shes still hungry... but hey why would I- her mother- know anything about her???) :banghead:

when ds was younger i used to get told he was sick and i should take him to the dr's by strangers in parents rooms. ds was a spewy bub and couldnt drink alot of milk at once and when i explained this i would often be greeted with "you obviously are too young to know how to look after a child"

if i feed ds solids while in a parents room i get asked how old is and get told he is overweight:no: when he is just under 11kgs now.

the other day i was at the bustop and ds had a asthma attack and i gave ds his ventalin through his spacer and he still wasnt getting better and so i called DP to come get us and an old woman said to another: "that poor child i bet he doesnt get enough vitamins thats why he has to have all the drugs pumped through that tube to him" and another old woman informed me that i had given ds his ventalin wrong. and i asked her if she had ever had asthma and she said no and i told her not to bother me till she ahd medical training. i am suprised i didnt bite her head off coz i was pretty stressed out :(

It doesn't happen so much now, but when she was a newborn it seemed liked EVERYONE was giving out unwanted advice. When Hayley was about 2 months old, I was in the shopping centre waiting for Grant to finish work (he used to work at Coles) and I had just fed and changed Hayley and was ok, then all of a sudden she started crying (because she was tired) and this guy walked passed and said "looks like someones hungry mum" :banghead: Also when Hayley was about 6 months I was at home feeding her a bottle and one of Grant friends was there, Hayley started crying because like most babies she gets funny around people she hardly knows, then Grant's friend says to me "maybe the milks too hot," I gave her Hayley to hold and she started crying more and she said "is there any milk comong out of this bottle?" I said to her that I have always heated the milk up at the same temparature since day one and the bottle is perfectly fine. she was crying because she was unsure about her (Grant's friends) people are so annoying, do they not realise that babies don't just cry coz they're hungry?????/

I think this is really common!! The thing that gets to me is that it makes you feel as though people think you don't know what you're doing. I feel like saying "He's my son, I'm around him 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, I know his signals!!!"

It also happens to me all the time. It is SO ANNOYING!!
I'm usually too polite and I nod and say thank you as I make a dash for it
There have been a handfull of times however, that I have told people (old ladies are the worst) - not so politely - that we are fine, but I always finish with a thank you.

I wish people would mind their own business.

For goodness sake, bubs is 18 months old, I always know exactly what is wrong with him now!
