After having 2 Stretch and Sweeps done this week my midwife is pretty confident that I should go into labour this weekend. She said my bub is engaged and cervix is fully effaced and she could stretch it to about 4cm.

After the S&S I have lost the mucous plug but still waiting on something to happen. Midwife was confident I would go into labour over the weekend but if not she wants to see me on Monday and suggested ARM (Artifical Rupture of Membranes) or more commonly known as 'breaking the waters".

Has anyone been induced this way before??

I haven't been induced before as both my other 2 came a little bit early. The only reason we are in a rush to get bub out is because we are moving interstate 12 days after my due date so we can't afford to go overdue...

Yep! Me.. well kinda.

I had cervidil in the night before, (to ripen my cervix) and then my waters got broken - or ARM. Didn't feel a thing... except once they were actually broken, just felt the fluid. Didn't hurt at all.

I was only in labour for 3 hours.. Not to say this will happen for you tho

Well my cervix is already ripe she said and my last labour was only 3 hours with no induction so it's good to know it may not end up being a long, painful labour after all!

Sounds like you have things on your side!

I was told that for my next - the first sign of pain... get to the hospital straight away as labour could only be 1.5hours long (This baby was my first)

If your last was only 3 hours, its quite possible that it will only be a short one... when it happens!

Good luck with it all!:goodvibes:

I had an ARM with my 2nd bub. At 3 days over got checked and was at 4cm doctor was pretty sure I'd be in labour within 48hrs. But if not to go back in after that for the ARM. No labour! Went in and was at 5cm he broke my waters and bubs was born 90mins later. It was fast and intense but way better than my first.

 Goodluck, hope you've had some action and won't need it.
