Any mums/mums groups/playgroups in Ashgrove/Bardon/The Gap/Red Hill?

Hello!

I've just moved to Brisbane from Canada and am looking to meet some new friends and other mums in my area. I'm 30 and have an 11-month old son. I'd be happy to get together at a local park, go for a walk, have a coffee and chat, etc. I have a car and am willing to drive (as long as it's not too far! Still getting used to driving on the left :)).
Can anyone recommend a mum's group etc in my area?

Hi Sarah!

You can check out Playgroup Qld's website for a playgroup near you - although they're all on break at the moment for the Xmas hols. But your first two visits to the playgroup are free, so you can decide if it's a good group for you before committing to paying.

Also - a few of us on BH started up a small running group a while ago and there are a some of us from this that still meet up. Not so much running anymore (too hot!) but we do get together to take the kids swimming at Paddington, or just a chat in the park.

Check out this thread and you can work out if you like the sound of it :) I can let you know next time we're meeting!

Oooh that sounds wonderful! I was actually going to say in my original post that I love to run and often take Nathan out in my jogging stroller. It is awfully hot for running these days however!! I have been going very early to beat the heat. That said a chat in the park or a swim sounds great, and some running would be great too when it's a bit cooler. Do let me know next time you are meeting, and I will also check out the QLD play group site - thank you so much for your help and recommendations :)

Hi there, I moved from the UK last yr and live at Alderley. I have Lily who is 3.5 and Jack 9 wks so Im looking to meet up with mums for coffee and a chat etc. :reindeer:

Alderley is quite close to me! It would be great to meet up. We are heading out of town for a bit over Christmas but maybe in the new year we could meet at a park or coffee shop or something? Why don't you send me an email? I've also got some information from another poster about a few mum's 'meet ups' in the area so I could keep you in the loop about that as well!
