View Full Version : Help with heat rash in toddler
We've moved to a house with no air con :( and my DD has terrible heat rash. She doesn't seem too bothered by it but it is on her forehead, arms, neck, chest, back and looks awful. I'm trying to keep the house as cool as possible with open windows and five fans, and give her three or more cold baths throughout the day but it looks awful.
Any tips?

coop gets heat rash. i put cornflour on any rash he gets but i also leave him in minimum clothing possible. today as soon as we got home, he went nude. he was happy to do that and he was in and out of the bath all day. i dont have any other ideas as i never use my air con as it takes too long to cool the room down so its fans for us as well.
do you moisture her skin as well? could a bit of sorbolene help?
Oh thanks, I'll give the cornflour a go tonight.
I don't moisturise her, though I read it's important to keep the skin dry so probably wouldn't help.

yeah but dont use the el cheapo brand. use the actual one that comes in the yellow box(cant remember what its called but the yellow box stands out.) i found the cheap ones never worked as well. cornflour works welll esp for nappy rash.

Calamine lotion also works really well.
