Since the year 2000, over 300 children under 5 have drowned...
With the aim of preventing these deaths, Laurie Lawrence, in conjunction with the Australian Government and water safety experts Australia wide, has put together Living with Water - a comprehensive water safety DVD for parents and caregivers of children under 5.

The free DVD covers all aspects of water safety and is broken down into developmental stages to outline specific water hazards as your child grows.

Our goal this holiday season is to raise the awareness of drowning danger by having every Australian parent and caregiver of children under 5 view the Living with Water DVD by Australia Day 2010. Our target in conjunction with the campaign is zero preventable drowning deaths!

The DVD can be downloaded (http://www.linkcounter.com/go.php?linkid=317660), streamed (http://www.linkcounter.com/go.php?linkid=317661) to your computer, or ordered (http://www.linkcounter.com/go.php?linkid=317662) as a DVD (FREE of charge).

Make sure every person you know takes the time to review the Living with Water DVD. It's absolutely free, could save a life and cost nothing but your time!

I just ordered it, so I couldn't exactly answer the poll, but once I've watched it I can come back and say I've seen it. I emailed my friends about it too.

i haven't seen and I probably won't :o. we don't have a pool so the only the water around the house is the bath. our kids don't have unsupervised baths.

we only go to the beach when DH is home so that we can both watch the kids around water....dh has Noah and I always have Owen to watch.

Having done a lot of health subjects, I already know the dangers so i probably wouldn't learn anything i don't already know.

I watched it when my daughter was little and i also made my husband watch it too.
I feel terribly sorry for people that have lost children to drowning and am so glad of all the education out there now.

I strongly suggest that all parents watch it. Drowning is still a major cause of death for children in Australia and I'm sure all of the parents of children who drowned though that their children were safe. It is often not the obvious situations that children drown in.

I have been a swimming teacher for 10 years and currently manage a swim centre and it is amazing how many parents think that once their child can "swim" (float and keep themselves up for a while) that they do not need to be supervised. Children ALWAYS need to be supervised around water - not just a casual glance up from a book now and then.

Please watch the DVD and get your children into swimming lessons as early as possible - it may one day save their life.
