Hey guys,
I'm so scared!!!!
I'm only 6 weeks pregnant, 3 tests 2 different brands to confirm it....blood tests next friday...
This morning I have had some discharge, its not bloody as such, but its got a pinky/brown tinge to it.
Is this normal or is something bad happening?
Please help!

Hi Kathleen,
Dont worry too much about it. I had the same thing when i was pregnant with my DS (he is now 11months old). I got really worried at the time, so i booked in to see my Dr, and he said that unless its RED blood, thats its ok. Brown blood means that its old and he said that there would be nothing to worry about. Make sure you mention it to your Dr next week.
Take it easy and make sure you dont do the dishes for at least a week!!! :)
Cheers

Thank you so much!
I am just so sick with worry! LOL Quite litterally, Ive got a rotten headache and am so tense.
I'm needing to de stress myself I think! :o
Is it normal to feel this tired too? I feel like its midnight already. Last night I was in bed at 730 and asleep well before 9. I still didnt wake up until my normal 630 alarm (except to pee).....
Thanks for your help! I'm a worry wort, I'm so nervous that I'll do something wrong and hurt the baby!

Hey Kat
I have heard it is pretty normal to bleed as well.
Did you have any pain or discomfort in you lower abdomen?
Reason I ask is only that when I m/c last week I had a short very sharp paid down there, followed by light spotting which was a pink/red.
If you had any sort of pain as well as blood, to err on the side of safety I would suggest you go to the Dr's just in case anyway. You can never be too careful.
I am sorry if my comments have increased your anxiety in any way, I certainly am not meaning to.
Let us know how you go

Hi Kat,
I don't want to stress you out but I think you should maybe go an see your doctor just to be sure. When I had my m/c in may I had a brown discharge (old blood) for the 2 weeks before I had my m/c.
I know though that some women do have discharge and it is nothing to worry about but better to be safe, just pop in to your DR and get it checked.
I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed, keep us updated.

Hey guys,
I'm feeling much better now.
Its not really spotting, its not staining my undies or anything, its just a little colour when I go to the loo. Very faint, but I did notice it.
If it doesnt go away this afternoon, I go to the doctor this afternoon.
I havent had any cramping or anything. I have a little bit of a dull ache since I conceived, but Ive been told its nothing to worry about.
What do you think?

I looked about a bit online and found some information that said it wasnt anything to be concerned about. Between 6 - 8 weeks its common to get implantation bleeding.
BUT that said, the site also mentioned that any kind of bleeding should be checked out by the Dr.
I rang to Dr surgery to see if I could talk to the doctor, and the receptionist said she thinks the doctor would prefer to see me personally. So I'm going over about 2.

Hey Kathleen,
Glad to see you went to the Dr. I agree with Pippa in that it is better safe than sorry.
How did it all go?

Doctor said she thinks its just normal, there is a trace of blood, but I possibly even have a bladder infection.
She's sending me for an ultrasound today just to make sure though, and so I dont have to worry over the weekend!
I was asked how many weeks I am by the receptionist. I ovulated about the 20th of last month, a little past the 14 day mark most women have....does that still make me 6 weeks?

Glad to hear you're getting an ultrasound for reassurance. It's horrible waiting and not knowing.
# of weeks is measured from the start of your last period. Not from ovulation or even conception.

Thank you all!
Ultrasound showed a TINY little splotch in the center of my uterus. :) The lady said its too early to confirm pregancy, as there is no heartbeat yet. She said by the looks of it I
m about 4 and a half weeks. Tiny was a 2mm splotch.
So despite being told they cant confirm anything, it looks promising and that the small amout of blood that I had was simply implantation bleeding.
I havent had any pains, and I asked the doctor about the aching I have off and on since last Thursday. She said that is perfectly normal, and *discomfort* is usually the uterus starting to expand...she said that if I start to get pains then that is more cause for concern but since I am only 22 and healthy, dont smoke, drink or take drugs (pretty much a saint...LOL) I'm in a very low risk category and shouldnt stress to much about any minor spoting or pains.
I'm going back to the doctor on Friday still for my blood test and I guess I'll be able to book in for my next scan then. The ultrasound lady said that they should be able to tell more in about 4 weeks, but at the moment its too early for a heart beat or anything like that.
Thank you all so much for your support and encouragment! I felt like such a git going to the doctor, but she was wonderful. :)
Lots of love,
Kat, Tiny and Steven

Kathleen,
Glad you went to see your doctor, I was brown discharging for 1 1/2 weeks weeks and that was a sign I was miscarrying, but I didn't experience any pain. So you never can tell, and you can never be too sure, but everyone is different! Yes 4 weeks is too early for a hb, they scanned me at 5 weeks 4 days (internal), and that is the earliest they can pick up a hb.
Best of luck with your pregnancy, it is normal to worry, but don't let it stress you too much, just enjoy the ride.
Take care

Well no sign of spotting since Friday, everything has settled down.
I'm finding myself starving all the time, and soooo tired I'm in bed by 9 every night. Some nights Ive been in bed by 730!
Fingers crossed.

Hi Kathleen
It sounds like everything is looking good. I had spotting around the 10 week mark so went and had an ultrasound just to confirm all was OK....it was good just to put my mind at ease.
It's normal that you are so tired....when I was pregnant I was lucky enough not to be working and from memory I slept most of the day in my first trimester and then was still in bed at about 7.30 at night...it gets better in second trimester!!
Cheers
