DD is currently 8wks old. Until a few days ago she pretty much pooped after every BF. She has not had a dirty nappy in four days now, although there are PLENTY of wet ones. She is feeding well and is showing no other signs of discomfort, but should I be worried? I have heard/read that BF babies rarely get constipated, but it seems strange for her 'habits' to change so suddenly when nothing else has changed - I have not eaten anything out of the ordinary, etc. How long should I wait before it is a problem? I never had this issue with DS for the 6 mths he was BF.

i would not worry at all!
both my kids went from pooping after every feed to pooping every 4-5 days with no break in between!
it very normal for BF babbies to go up to 6-7 days between poos!!
the only thing i sugest is if you need to leave the house on a poo day take plenty of changes of clothes!
(also a spare t-shirt for your self can be a life save nothing worse then running in to kmart covered in poop to buy a clean shirt!)

I don't think there is anything to worry about. DS2 only pooed once every 5-9 days for three months, then pooed every nappy change for two weeks and is now pooing about twice a week. Nothing has changed in his diet either, I think it's just normal variations for BF babies.

OMG! How can such a small child hold in so much! Day five of 'poo-watch' and we have had our poosplosion. I guess I know what to expect from now on and will keep plenty of wipes on hand if we have to go out.
