Hello to all fellow Dads and Dads-to-be!

I am new on board this community. :)

I am also a Dad and a Mum to my 2.4 year old toddler, Patricia.

Hope to make more new friends and improve my knowledge on parenting.

G'day there Galen.

Glad to see another XY chromer around here. This area seems to quieten down a little at times, then without notice, it fires up again. It's a little strange, but that's us guys all over. Be careful showing your baby girl around here...there are so many people that are busting for kds, yours is liable to be co-owned by many. Me included. You are one lucky man. But somehow...I think you already know that.

I strongly suggest you read some of the other threads on the dad's area. They will bring you up to speed on what a lot of us are currently going through. Some have been through some painful procedures too...right Chris! Sorry mate. Not laughing

My story, one of many, is I have a sperm morphology problem which required wifey and I to get onboard the IVF train a few months ago. We had the testing done, got onto the FSH and Syanrel, had our EPU and ended up with 3 viable embryos. Two are frosties and one was implanted which is now almost 8 weeks old. We go for our foetal heartbeat scan next Monday the 14th. So our story is one of absolute good fortune.

Stick around and enjoy the goings on around here. Sorry though, I can't give you much advice on parenting. I perhaps may need some in the middle of next year however.;)

Cheers to all

Paul.

Hi all

Well thanks for that Galen.

We had our scan yesterday (Dec 14th) and it showed the most amazing thing I've ever seen. Wifey and I saw our 7 week old baby's heart beating away furiously at around 180 bpm. Our FS ran off 4 pictures of it for us too. Our little one is around 15mm long and we could see what is the beginning of arms and legs. Simply amazing stuff guys. Poor wifey has been suffering terribly with morning sickness too, so we've been trying many new and old remedies with some success. Do you guys have any suggestions to offer?

Apart from that, we don't expect any problems with our pregnancy as that was generally never going to be an issue with us. The conception was what was going to give us grief, but with a little help from the IVF people, we really have struck the jackpot. Don't for a minute think we don't realise how lucky we've truly been.

Cheers to all and have a safe and wonderful Christmas.

Great to hear that from you Paul! Both of you must had been really excited about it!:santa:

Try giving your wife some fresh ginger (or potato chips) to ease the nausea.

Avoid large meals because it will make her feel stuffed and sick. Eat 6 -small snack type meals a day. Make sure her stomach is never empty. An empty stomach can aggravate morning sickness.

A lot of women get nauseous because they need more protein in their diet. Snacks that consist of high-protein food, such as peanut butter on apple slices or celery, nuts, cheese and crackers, milk, cottage cheese and yogurt. Almonds are excellent sources of protein and they stop nausea, have a bag on hand at all times.:sunshine:

Wish you guys a Merry Christmas in advance too!
