Does anyone do Family Day Care?

I'm just wandering if there is anyone here who does family day care that would mind sharing with me their experience. How often do you work, how many children, is it a good income, and what are the legal requirements?

i dont do family day care but i know in geelong the max amount of children is 7 in total and that included any children the carer has. and its 4 non school aged children and 3 school aged. thats all i can tell you :)

i did fdc last year and had max. 5 non school aged children and up to 7 which included non and school aged kids and also my 2 kids. I worked flexable hours for my parents and brought in approx $500 wk,i had to take out my own tax etc. There are a few up front costs but i could claim alot of it back,(which i should do very soon!!) the office ladies of our local fdc centre came out to my house every week for a chat to see if i needed anything.all in all it was a great experience but due to buying a shop i was needed more there and now work parttime there and my youngest is now in fdc, which he loves.
