My son is nearly 10months old and he is throwing tantrums.
He lays down and puts his head into the ground and screams.
What is the best way to deal with this?
I dont want to encourage it so i ignore it.
Tips/experiences will be greatly appreciated :)

My son used to thro silent tantrums lol He would just lay down and get a really sad face but not scream or anything lol. However even with his little tantrums now I just ignore them. Or just say to him in a calm voice to get up and stop being silly, there is no need for that. Im pretty relaxed when it comes to tantrums even if he does it in shops, I generally just take a few steps away and tell him to get up and come to me (not pick him up for cuddles just to follow me) Or if he does it when I put him back in his pram I just say "Oh shush" and ignore it or try to distract him by giving him his water bottle. If he doesnt want it I just ignore him.

I do know he is very well behaved compared to some though, however I believe its what I have done since he started throwing them that has made it so easy to handle.

toddlers get frustrated easily because here is so much they would like to do but their abilities (little bodies that can't quite do everything yet) hold them back. it might help that sometimes you get on his level and very quietly ask him if he is Ok. you can usually work out if they were trying to reach for something or open something etc before they lose it, and help them out.

other reasons may be that they are tired and this is one way to express that. at times like this you can put them to sleep or play a quiet game (like reading) etc.

sometimes you just cannot help them or they are not responding to you when you are trying to help them. this is when i walk out of the room and come back when they are done.

good luck
