I am unsure about this matter and don't fully understand it myself. I have been told that if i am having hormonal problems now, that the hormones are somewhat gathered in the placenta when having a baby. Also, when having the baby, if I haven't sorted my self out properly, with mainly the hormones problems and my depression, before I had the baby, the hormones would come out in the placenta and would result in me getting post natal depression or further problems. Is this true. if not, can I still get other problems?

Hi again Michelle. I haven't heard of anything like this happening. Are you seeing an endocrinologist for your PCOS? If not, you should try to get a referral to one, preferably a good one. I replied to another of your posts and left a web address for the Australian polycystic ovaries support group. There are forums on there recommendations for doctors, depending on where you are. Be careful, some doctors are not terribly sympathetic to this condition.
Otherwise, that stuff about hormones sounds a bit like scaremongering to me. Ask your doctor. And try not to worry about it.
