Sorry guys - don't mean to barge into your section of the forum, but I realy need help from those of you who know ANYTHING about Manchester!

I was supposed to be attending my brother's wedding in Skelmersdale in Nov this year. But due to finances, they have postponed their wedding until next year. Thus begins my dilemma....

We HAVE to go to UK anyway! We have already booked and paid for our tickets, which are are non-refundable, so we are forced to stick to our original itinerary. As we were going to be provided with a cottage to stay at, we have not allowed a week's worth of accommodation into our budget. So we need to find affordable accommodation in Manchester for a week. But I don't want to be stuck in a ratsnest for a week with an 18month old because the hotel/B&B looked nice in the photos!

So if there is anyone who can recommend an affordable place to stay in or near Manchester I would be SOOOOOO grateful!!!! Also if anyone knows of anything to do there to fill in our week that would be awesome!

I do know machester - moved out here from yorkshire 3 years ago but I can give u plenty of tips of places to go etc - let me know how much u want to spend on accomodation - and I can get my thinking cap on for suggestions - there are lots of nice places around there - will you be hiring a car ??Why not pm me Clairemallinson@yahoo.com and Ill help with tips etc
