View Full Version : Kids ballet (or maybe gymnstics) in Brisbane, Any suggestions?
I'd like to start looking at places to put my daughter into ballet at the begining of the new year but I'm having trouble finding places on the southside. Ideally I'd like something not too far from the logan area. I'm out further, so I really don't want to have to be driving over the other side of town.
I'm also interested in where I can put my daughter into gymnastics. Any opinions on which is better, is classical ballet generally very strict, even for younger children? I just want to make sure which ever she does, she has fun.
Does anyone have thier kids in either ballet or gymnastics on the southside, and if you wouldn't mind, could you tell me jow much it costs you? Thanks! :)

well i did gymnastics as a kid and loved it:D lots of fun.
i have heard ballet is pretty strict BUT it depends on each place- some dance schools will have more relaxed dance classes others not
for gymnastics try this website

and on the right side there is a little purple box if you put brisbane in it will come up with all the gymnastics places in bris so hopefully you can find one in your area:)
What about Jazz? My friend runs a small dance school at Crestmead. PM me if you want details.

How old is your little girl? My daughter has a fantastic Dance School on the Southside...they run a combined Jazz/Ballet/Tap Class for the little ones and then they are starting up at Ballet/Jazz or Tap/HipHop for the slightly older (have to check those combinations though for the slightly older ones) and then they can choose to go into Ballet, Jazz, Tap or Hip Hop...our little one has been doing it since she was 2 and she loves it and its pretty close to Logan...we pay $39 a month...PM me if your interested in more details....

Hi.
I have a 2.5 year old and a 4 year old and I'm interested in your dance school. What days of the week do they do the little ones classes and what suburb is it located? Thanks

have you looked into any of the local pcyc's?
Try Logan PCYC or Beenleigh PCYC

They have kindergym for under 5s, usually held Mon, Tues or Thurs mornings, each session is $6 and you pay an annual fee of $33, and you just pay for each session you attend (so no term fees and no makeups). My two girls loved it in 2009 and its done wonders for their physical abilities and confidence.
We are also looking for dance classes for a 2yo and 4yo on the southside and its proving quite difficult, so any more tips, recommendations are welcome!
