Has anyone done this before? I'm looking forward to taking Ainslie to the Carols this year but I've never been to this particular on. I've been to Carol events in other venues and have always enjoyed a packed picnic lunch with booze. However had just had a look at the terms and conditions for entry at Riverstage (http://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/BCC:BASE:1839204730:pc=PC_5091) and its quite extensive, stating no eskies, bottles, or containers of any kind - what did you do for baby food (and grown up food for that matter?). Note: Although it also says that children under 6 are not permitted, this does not apply to the Carols...
Is there anything else I need to think about? I had a look at the official IGA Lord Mayers Carols website but it doesn't really give that much practical information for parents taking kids....

i am sure you can take snacks and food for baby. I guess that they are relying on you buying stuff there. I have never been, but SIL has and said there are that many people there that you have to get there early in the morning just to get a decent spot.
I have always wanted to go, but the girls have not been old enough that they will sit for that long! Maybe next year we can :santa:

I was planning on doing that, but then notice that it says the gates don't open until 5pm (starts at 7pm) so I guess that will have to do. I'm thinking of getting there myself at 5pm to secure a spot, and then getting hubby to bring the bub later on so that she doesn't have to sit around for hours before.
If we like it enough to come back next year maybe we'll see you there!!!:)

Just read on another website that it is an alcohol free event as well......This does not bother me so much, however I really would like to pack a nice picnic of delicious food to nibble on. I don't like the idea of having to eat greasy chips/hot dogs or "ekka-style" food, if that's what they are selling there....
