View Full Version : Not really showing any symptoms??
Ok, so on Sunday I took a HPT as my AF was 2 weeks late, and I was having a few sleeping probs.. The HPT was positive! Not quite beleiving it, I went to the doc on monday morning, who did another test, which turned out positive.. YAY - I'm 32 so pretty excited as this will be my first!
Only problem is, aside from occassional PMS like pains and no period, I haven't really shown any symptoms of pregnancy.. I haven't been sick, my breasts aren't tender or sore.. I have been feeling a bit hot & faint at work, but that could just be because i'm a waitress and they haven't fixed the air-con yet!!!
Anyway, I'm just wondering whether or not I should be concerned that I'm not really showing any symptoms of pregnancy, has anyone else had this? (by the way, my mum told me she never got any morning sickness in any of her pregnancies, and we all turned out ok...). Thanks :)

I dont think its anything to worry about at all..... I know many people who dont show symptoms of pregnancy. I got really sick for about one week and now i seem to be fine. But i was the same as you, thinking oh no I feel fine does that mean everything is ok.
You are lucky, so far anyway :) You may suddenly get sick.... fingers crossed you dont. Just enjoy!!!
and
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!:hugs:
Thanks Cazzie..
I've been trying for about 2 years, and have PCOS, so it definitely hasn't been an easy journey for me. I guess I'm just trying not to get my hopes up too high, even though I've seen the BFP lol.. Maybe once I get first scan, it'll seem more real!

I know what you mean it is hard not to worry... we have had some complications, now everything is looking perfect- I have an ultra sound every 2 weeks yet I still worry all the time lol..... I guess its all apart of being a mum :) I keep saying to myself, ok, after the next ultra sound I wont worry any more LOL.
Keep me posted on how everything goes..... Do you know when you will have your first scan yet?

Firsty, congratulations. :smiliedance:
I had no symptoms at all. No morning sickness or anything...i didn't even start to show until i was close to 30 weeks!
My first scan reassured me that everything was ok...then a few weeks later i started to worry until i heard baby's heartbeat on doppler...now, everytime i feel something weird i look forward to my Dr appointment to make sure baby is ok!!!
Yep im a worry wort! (this is our first as well)
I have only just started to feel pregnant with the belly and swollen feet and as you can see i only have just over 6 weeks to go! YAY!
Count yourself lucky your not getting morning sickness...i hear its not the nicest thing!!!
Goodluck with the rest of your pregnancy...and stop stessing lovely. I think i posted the same question on here when i first found out!
YAY YAY YAY - goodluck!
Hey, I've had absolutely no symptoms for my entire pregnancy either! Absolutely nothing except my baby bump forming and getting tired and sore in the last 2 weeks! It's nothing to worry about, different people react in different ways. Try not to worry!
Well, just got back from the docs.. blood test came out ok, HCG of 13,800 which I'm guessing is pretty good.. due date Jul 19 (though he said wont know totally until first scan is done).. so yay!
Thanks all, glad to see i'm not alone in not getting the symptoms! lol
Hi girls,
I am currently 6 weeks pregnant, and the only symptoms I have are some pulls and twinges in my belly, the occasional PMS type cramp, and metallic taste in my mouth. I am not sure my boobs are any bigger, they are a tiny bit sore.
today I had an early scan (because I had a m/c in June at 6w), but only saw a tiny blob on the screen, which FS could only just make out. he said too early to see anything have to come back Tuesday, when I will be 6w6d.
My HCG levels have been:
13dpo - 22
16dpo - 86
19dpo - 397
22dpo - 1826
26dpo - 4105
I am awaiting todays HCG results to compare.
Did anyone else have HCG levels that were slow to rise (from day 22-26 for eg) and still go on to have healthy bubs? And also see nothing at an early scan? The next 5 days are going to be so long......
Cheers
Shokujo, how many weeks are you since LMP? That number sounds good :)
hi ladies,
i also havent had any major symtoms so far :fingerscrossed:. at this stage i think i am about 5 weeks, going for blood test tomorrow to confirm everything. i have my first scan booked around xmas.
at this stage the only symptoms i am getting is slight dizziness, very tender (.Y.), i cant eat full meals, but have to eat about every 2 hours. other than that i dont really have anything else. thats why i am very anxious to get the blood test tomorrow to make sure it is all still real.
but dont worry if you are not getting any major symtoms, everyone goes through pregnancy very differently. and more than likely they will hit you very suddenly and you will remember this thread!!!
Good Luck :flowerz:

Hi Shokujo,
I am 6 weeks 4day, and i am the same, no symptopms. I am a little bit more tired then normal, but that is all.. I too was worried about this so when i got my blood test results back yesterday, the doc said it looked all good and not to worry. But its our first so yes i am going to worry. I think every one i have told went on about how im going to get morning sickness and all the other symptoms that when i didnt get any i got all freaked out thinking the worst.. I will be relived when i start to show, becasue atm i dont fee preg..:( but i am :)
Shy1 - I'm not exactly sure, my last AF started 13th Oct, but not too sure how long my cycle is, it changes all the time.. fun of PCOS :(.. Best estimate from the doc is 7 weeks, but he won't do a scan to find out for sure (going to see a new doctor tomorrow!) so I'm just guessing at the moment. The doctor did seem happy with the levels.
ourlittleone - It's my first too, so I guess I've got the million questions and worries too! Hopefully it can feel real soon :)

..not only are you perfectly normal, you are very lucky! I didnt get any symptoms either, except for what I normally get before AF (sore (.)(.)). I was so sure I wasnt pg I even posted on my TTC thread that they may as well colour me negative as I had no symptoms (whereas others seemed to have heaps... but curiously most of them turned out to NOT be pg, weird huh!). I did a test at 12dpo only because we had a function on the next day and I wantd to double check if I could drink (I had alreadyhad wine earlier in the week convinced I was not UTD!!!!). There was faint line and I nearly fell off the toilet...
Anyway, (.)(.) stayed sore and continued to get sorer, I got mild nausea from week 7 to week 9, then at week 9 ALL my symptoms disappeared and once again I was convinced something was wrong.. but no, all was fine and it was just hormones levelling out.
Its just the luck of the draw- but definately nothing to worry about, especially if your hcg count is so high! maybe it twins!!!! Did you have any treatment for PCOS? I have heard twins are a possibility if so....
congratulations and enjoy :xmas:

Its normal to feel normal at the beginning- i did through the very early stages. The symptoms generally become more noticeable as the HCG levels build up. But it's really individual, some people vomit for 8 months while others barely feel queasy. I haven't had the slightest puffiness (fluid retention) but i have varicose veins from hell! So it's hard to say how it will affect u as the pregnancy goes on.
One thing i can tell you though is that waitressing is bloody hard after the first few months, so if u can, budget to finish work earlier rather than later.
Purplecat - Thanks for that, it's so nice to feel normal (and lucky! lol). Funny you say about nearly falling off the toilet, I did the exact same thing.. Did HPT (for what reason, I don't know.. My AF was late, but that's pretty normal.. just for some reason I thought I should do one!).. The result line came out almost instantly! I couldn't believe it! Then of course I had to do the second test, lol.. Then to the doctors the next day :) It was very exciting!
The only thing I really have is cramping (just like when AF visits!) and massive tiredness! I didn't get any treatment for PCOS, ironically I had made an appointment with apparently a very good GP who is well knowledged about the condition. I made the appointment for early january. Turns out, I don't need it! lol.. Twins don't run in my family, so it's not likely, but if it happens then great, if not then great :)
Mystics - Thanks, i think our budget will allow me to leave work earlier than most. The good thing is (i did tell my boss) is that they have been taking it a little easier on me, i've spent a bit of time on the register rather than on the floor picking up plates and glasses. Still get tired though LOL!

Firstly, CONGRATS!!!! :yelclap:
Me personally had MS with both pregnancies...worse with my first then second, but my BF had nothing at all!!! no nausea, sickness, sore boobs ( but they did grow ) She never "felt" pregnant untill she started showing and feeling the bub move!!
I am paranoid when i am PG...constantly pushing on my boobs to see if they are still sore...and if i dont feel as sick one day as the day before i worry lol!!!
I think no matter what, you will worry, until you feel the first flutters, its only natural ( and even then you stilll worry lol)
You might just be one of the very lucky ones who dont get MS!! Or you may get it soon, so i say enjoy it :D
