Hi girls
My dd is 8 months and not crawling, which from reading a lot of the posts here, isnt a problem. Im just wondering, as she has never been a big fan of tummy time and now just rolls straight onto her back every time i pop her on her tummy........................ should I be doing something else to help her crawl. I was thinking I should just keep putting her on her tummy and holding her there gently so she can't roll straight over. I'd love any other ideas too!
thanks

Try lying down on your back and put her on your chest (tummy down) and play with her (use your arms and push her up into the air etc.), do aeroplanes around the room etc. It's all tummy time, they just have to be on their tummy for the muscles to work, not on their tummy on the ground. Get creative!!!

My DS son was the same he hated tummy time so we didn't do it. We did play lots and i used to lie infront of him trying to get him to get on his tummy or i placed a mirror in front of him he so he had something to look at he would play for ages by himself with his friend in the mirror. Don't stress when your DD is ready she will crawl and there will be no stopping her.

Hi mumtoone and mumofmadd and thanks for your replies. I've been doing what you both suggested so i guess i'll just keep doing it and im sure like everyone says, she'll crawl in her own time!
thanks again

i know this is going to sound cliche....she will crawl when she is ready - seriously....enjoy her while she is immobile....I wish I had a bit more instead of wishing my my DS's milestones away
