Hi I went for my 6 month old's check up last week and they discovered that her leg creases don't match up, her knees are different hights and her left leg is about 2 cm longer than her right leg. The doctor sent her for an ultrasound as they thought it may be hip displaysia but all looked ok. So now we have been referred to an orthopedic paediatrician but we cant get an appointment for 3 months.
Ha any one else had children with different length legs, what was the cause, can it be treated??

This seems to be very common? I have three friends who have all had this mentioned at an early checkup and they have got really worried, but then followups have found its either disappeared, or its nothing to worry about, or whatever..
I myself will be guessing that your bub will be in the same boat and it will all be fine, fingers crossed.

Hi, thanks to those of you who replied to my question on different leg lengths. DD went for an x-ray yesterday with the orthopedic surgeon and it turns out that her legs are the same size after all. She has mild hip dysplasia which doesn't need treatment and should sort itself out when she starts to walk...phew! My advice is to defnitely get second opinions before you start worrying too much as the first docor we saw said her legs were 2 cm different from one another!
