My 13 week old son has started waking 3 times a night for the past week.

WHY?

He was going from 7-630 with only one feed....now he's waking up all the time.

Im going insane...Ive had hardly any sleep for days, I'm feeling so depressed today. I express for him so I know what he drinks and dont think he could be hungry...he drank nearly 1200ml from his bottles yesterday, had a BF, and I gave him a tsp of Farex in his night bottle..... He has GOT to be full, really?

Wednesday night was the first time I introduced the Farex to his night bottle, and he slept like an angel....but last night was back to the bad ways of the last week.

At first I wondered if he wasnt feeling well....but he is the HAPPIEST I have EVER seen him. He is cooing, laughing, and chattering constantly...even during the night feed. When I dont talk back to him at night (cause I do the no talk, no lights routine) he looks at me and smiles and coos more....so there isnt a tummy ache or anything bugging him!

I dont know what to do, I'm so tired and depressed, I need a good nights sleep.....he's a self settler, so that cant be the problem....he's well fed, had a clean nappy, is winded well and I give him some infants friend before bedtime just to make double sure....so what am I doing wrong?

Please help.

I think sometimes that's just what babies do. Well that's what my babies have done. They have their good nights, then they might have a couple of bad. I don't think there can be any predictability in what they do. Mine have also swapped between self settling and needing a cuddle. Just try whatever you can and do whatever works and whatever will help you to get more sleep.:hugs:

3 months is the average age for a growth spurt, and it's usual for them to want to feed constantly for approx. a week. Just attach him to your boob as often as possible, it's tiring I know. The more expressed bottles the longer it will take for your supply to build so if possible try to not give a bottle (if that's not possible that's ok, it just might take a bit longer) I used to lie down with DD and she'd feed for an hour at one time during a growth spurt and I'd lightly doze while she fed.
It will end and you'll be back to sleeping again. Drink lots of water and eat well in the meantime.
I noticed DD went through growth spurts at 6 weeks, 3 months, 4 1/2 months and 6 months.
Your supply needs to build, it's often a time when people think they don't have enough milk for their baby anymore but as long as he is happy and healthy I wouldn't be too concerned. You could ring an ABA counsellor if you're worried.
