Hi everyone,
I am new to all this but really want to get some ideas and opinions! This is my story:

Was on the pill (levlen) for roughly 9 years, came off the pill november 08 as my dp and I wanted to start ttc in mid 09. when i came off my first 4 cycles were relatively normal (between 29-32 days), the next one pushed out 44, then they just kept getting longer and longer (98 and then 75) and then suddenly one at 37! I am currently back to day 50 and have no idea where to start. I had a scan done 3 cycles ago and they said i have symptoms of PCOS. My doc put me on metformin (which i found made me light headed so i stuck iot out for 4 months but couldnt take it any longer...

I was just hoping that things would happen naturally? I am at a loss as to what to do next?

My dp is 37 and i am 29 and we are worried that our ages might affect out chances of falling preg???

I have another doc appt in two weeks - I have done 4 hpt and all negative. Should i get a blood test done? Its hardto know where I am in my cycle as they are so erratic!!!

Any idea's/info would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Cheers!

hi am80

firstly welcome to the TTC nightmare hope yours becomes easier really soon

my advise is the time is invaluable when you have decided you want a baby

i would stop wasting time with a gp as really they do not know much go to a fertility specialist now and get things sort out once and for all

they will do all the tests and work out the best treatment plan for you

if you are in melb I could recommend one when and if you are ready

i can sort of understand your situation. i was on the pill for over 12 years and came off in August. i got my AF like clockwork in September but it has been MIA since.
i went to my doc and got a blood test last tuesday- -ve :hair: i really wasnt expecting to be pregnant so soon or anything, but i just want to know what is happening with my body. it is very frustrating and all my doc has said is wait another 3 weeks and we will test again.
i dont think i can keep testing to get -ve results...

i hope things work out with you.

hey mate, i ttc for 18 months with my second bub.

i will say that alot of doctors wont really do too much until you have been ttc for at least 12 months.

but in saying that, you can always go to your doc and chat about it (this way its on record too), get some 21 day progesterone tests done (to see if you have or are about to ovulate).

i found it really helpful to track my body temp each day, using fertility friend dot com and a digital ovulation thermometer (any good chemist around 20 bucks)..i also checked my *cough* CM and CP daily too and recorded all this on fertility friend.

funnily enough, the 18th month i decided to have a break and just rely on CM and OPKs, i decided not to temp. That was the month i got my bfp!

all the best, :babydust2:

21 day tests are not really going to work if your cycle is all over the place
fertility friend and OPK are ok but you need a regular cycle

if you have pcos you need to get that sorted, I don't know a lot about it as its not my issue http://www.managingpcos.org.au/

as far as 12mths you don't have to wait make your Dr give you a referral if you want one by first GP was useless needless to say we don't go there anymore

Hi am80

No advice sorry but I will be watching this thread with interest.

I came off the pill in March, and until June/July was pretty good. The last 3 cycles have been 42 days, 72 days and 37 days. Currently Day 27 and am pretty sure I haven't ovulated yet.

I am hoping to see my GP this week, so will mention it. We haven't been trying very long (about a week ) but I am very worried about it.

Good Luck to both of us!
