Hi All

We are going to be TTC number 2 Jan next year. I would love the new bub to be full cloth. I have been slowly building DD's stash in unisex colours so I can reuse her AIO for the next.

I have been looking at fitted nappies for the next one cause I will be able to use them longer then the AIO's and then use DD's AIO later on down the track (she's 15 months now so planning on having her out of nappies by then)... Please tell me which fitted you found the best. Has anyone used Smarty pants and how did you find them... I'm thinking of having a BBH consultant out to have a look at theirs.

Also before they hit the 4kg mark do you use prefolds or disposables? I was thinking of getting some NB bamboo prefolds but not 100%...

thanks for your help

We used disposables for the first 2 and a half months, but with #2 we'll be doing half and half. DD is fully cloth now.

I'm setting up for a newborn now and have mostly prefolds. I've also got 6 spunkybutts brand fitteds and 6 AIOs in small.

Other brands of fitteds I looked at for newborns were Lushies from sustainable hemp products and bubblebubs Bambams. But in the end I decided I'm better off with prefolds when really small then AIOs.

i used booroi prefolds and bambam fitteds from birth and my dd was only 6pd14 so not huge. they were both great. now that she doesnt fit the prefolds i use them in my pocket nappies. she is still using the bambams at 6 months old.

I have BBH bamboo and hemp fitteds. I love the bamboo fitteds, they stay quite soft and they have never leaked. The hemp are ok too, but become stiff over time.

ETA: the BBH multi-fits are great too. They fit the whole way through and have the minky outter layer so you don't need a cover. You just snap them down to the size you need and stuff the pocket to achieve the relevant level of absorbency. Great colours too.

BBH multifits are still too big for my DD at 12weeks, so I wouldn't recommend them for a newborn, but the bamboo fitteds would fit most, they worked here from about 4 weeks. (DD was tiny 2.9kg and very lean)

This is true, the multi's are from 5kg I think
DS was 5kg at about five weeks, so I guess it depends how big your bub is.
