DD1's oral intake has dropped to nothing over the last 24 hours-36 hours.

She has been sick & has come good since her intake stopped.

Anyone got an idea on how to get her back again?

Hey triple, is nappies dry.... other then that maybe try water, or a washer to suck on that means the fluid still getting in.... I would give it till tomoz n if still absolutley no intake n nappies dry try to see a doc... also mayb a bit late but if u put her in the bath when they splash n stuff n have a cup they try to drink water, thats my fav trick....

Babies dehydrate extremely quickly. I'm a nurse, so just checking a couple of things! Has she taken any fluids at all today? Is she having wet nappies? Is she vomitting or having diarrhoea? Is she alert and interested in her surroundings? Being so young, if she's not having wet nappies and is not as alert as usual then i'd seriously consider calling your gp tonight. Lack of wet nappies indicates that she is already considerably dehydrated and waiting until tomorrow is very dangerous. If not, persist with offering regular fluids, whether it be breastmilk/formula or water. The facewasher idea is good trick and some will suck on an icypole (although she might not like the cold at her age). If she is on solids, don't bother offering them until the fluids are sorted, they are not important when babies are sick. Trust your instincts, mum knows best! If you think she's ok for tonight, i'd def take her to the doc tomorrow just to check her over. I know you probably know most of this, but I know when one of my kids are sick it's hard to think clearly, so hope it helps. Let us know how she's going :)

Nappies arent as wet as they can be but still wet. Dirties have been gaining consistency since thursday.

In the last 12 hours she's had 200ml which is a feed & 1/2 for her. Sucking on a washer & drinking water.
Slowly winning.

HUGS soounds like she might need a IV or a NG tube for a few days to get some fluids into her, 200 is a great improvement on nothing but if she is stil dehhydrated then she might need some help

She has IV's on thursday for 3 hours in ER.

Just rang the Reg, we've got till tomorrow morning to get feeds into her anyway shape or form. If not its more IV's.
