Hay,
I've received a summons to be a Juror for 6 whole weeks  and it starts on Monday!
As im a stay at home wife ( and hopefully mum but with no kids yet :p ) I had no reason to be excused and so I have to do my 'duty'!
I am very anxious about going and having to make decisions about other peoples futures and was wondering if anyone in BUB HUB land had completed a stint and could let me know what to expect?
Any little tid bits would really, really help!
Thanks everyone!

Be prepared for a LOT of sitting around doing nothing!! I was on jury duty about 15 years ago, and was SO excited because I think to see what goes on in a court room would be fantastic. Anyway, got selected on 2 jury's and both times was shoved out into the jury room while "court discussions" were had. Both times, the person changed their plea to guilty, so we ended up being released. :( That was pretty much what my stint entailed. Mind you, things may be different nowadays, but when our group was called in for selection, there was a lot of sitting around waiting. Take a good book with you. You tend to make friends with people becasue unless they get picked on a case, you see them at every selection process. I remember towards the end of our stint, when you go through the selection process, people would practically run up to the bailiff to get their hand on the bible before any of the legal eagles could protest them (they always seem to wait till your about 1mtr away before they say they don't want you). But it may all be different now.
Hope this helps you a bit.
i was summoned for jury duty a couple of months ago but got out of it because i'm pregnant, i didn't need a dr's cert or anything i just rang the court. i didn't fancy sitting still for long periods of time..... when every 5 minutes i need to pee!
not to mention not being able to snack in the court room, when the bump is hungry all else stops! :p
