just wanted to share my excitement.

My little man (6weeks) settled in for his first daytime structured nap this morning. For the past 6 weeks, he will only nap in his bouncer throughout the day, and those naps have become shorter and shorter. We finally finished our cot (Dh was annoyed at my painting - i couldnt careless how it looked in the end, i just wanted it assembled!) yesterday, so little man is now sleeping in his cot! It has one side off and is up against our bed. He slept quite well last night, and is sleeping like an angel now.

Question tho - when can you move bubba into their own room, so many midwives and nurses have told me different stories - but from SIDS point of view - at what age do you start?

anyway - im going to enjoy the blissful silence of my baby sleeping!

Hey congrats on getting little man to sleep in his own cot, that's awesome! From what i have heard SIDS recommends babies sleeping in your room till they are 12 months old. DS is 9 months and sleeps in a port-a-cot in our room, and will do till he is 12 months old. :D

:smiliedance: Bek! :fingerscrossed: many more peaceful hours coming your way.

I moved Porsha into her own room once she had mastered rolling. Hmmm, from memory it would have been around the 6 month mark.

Congrats!!:smiliedance:
Both our boys were nearly 10 months before they went to their own room, but that was more because of winter than for sids.

DS was in his own room at about 3-4mths I think. He's too noisy to sleep with, farting and wiggling around. Even then we had lots of unsettled nights and spent time with us on the lounge or our bed anyway.

My boy has been in his own room since he was 2 days old. If he is unwell or something he will sometimes sleep in our room - but not usually!!
