Good morning all,
My name is Rowena. I work for a public relations company. As part of a current campaign we’re undertaking for a client, I’m conducting research into how Mums really feel about a variety of different issues.
Our client thinks that the media and academics and so-called authorities have too much to say about motherhood and how parents should act, and thinks the Mums themselves should have more say.
In order to stimulate debate on this issue, I’m looking for mothers who have experienced one or more of these situations:
Suffered from postnatal depression
Adopted or are trying to adopt a child from overseas
Found that having a gap in your resume after having children was a problem when trying to return to work OR found an employer who was very understanding about the gap so that it wasn’t a problem
Have been asked to stop or leave when breastfeeding somewhere in public e.g. a restaurant or shopping centre
Found that an online parenting support group was very helpful because you had no family support or lived in an isolated area
If this sounds like you, and you are willing to discuss how you felt about the issue(s) that affect you, and preferably are comfortable and confident enough to potentially be interviewed for a newspaper article or on talkback radio, I would absolutely love to hear from you.
All you need to do is tell me how you feel. You don’t need to be particularly knowledgeable about any of these issues. We just want to know what you think!
You can email me at: rowena@tmte.com.au (rowena@tmte.com.au) or phone me on: (02) 9331 6611
I’ll look forward to hearing from you.
Rowena.
