Hey Emma
You should go get a BT, i have read heaps of stories on bubhub, where people were getting BFN urine tests, but a BFP blood test, def give that a go. :fingerscrossed:

Oh Emma you poor thing! :hugs:
I think you've got three choices.
You can wait anxiously for a few more days and test again.
You can distract yourself by doing lots of really fun things and test again in a few days
Or you can go to the doc and get a blood test.
Good luck! :fingerscrossed: :hugs:

Hi Emma,
You can also get a home pregnancy test that has a more sensitive reading of HCG (the pregnancy hormone). A test that enables you to test 5 days before your period is due will be more sensitive to HCG levels than a test that requires you to be officially late before testing (ie is less sensitive to HCG levels). As your HCG levels double every second day you should get a result.
THe home preganncy test says on the pack "can test up to 5 days before your period is due". For the life of me I cant recall the brand. You may need to go to a few chemist before you can find them - they're fairly common in Sydney but might not be in Darwin.
PS: with both my babies I tested with early pregnancy tests (this one I'm pregnant with now I tested 5 days before I was due... was crazy in hindsight as meant I then had to sit around to make sure I didnt get my period and end up with a chemical pregnancy/early miscarriage... fortunately all turned out fine).
Ok good luck honey. All sounds pretty though!

yeah I am using those ones, a a first response and fortel. they both say you can test 5 days before AF is late, and both say BFN. This is too weird!

Sorry just to clarify - If you ovulated later in the month your HCG level would be lower around the time you expected your period to be than if you had ovulated earlier in the month. If you get an early test kit it will pick up much more minute levels of HCG. Hmmm think I am banging on about this too much.
My girlfriend tested 2 days late for her period and no result. A week later she got a positive result. This means she concieved later in her cycle so her HCG levels were lower and less detectable by the HPT she used.
I think some early tests can pick up levels as low as 15mIU HCG but some require 100mIU HCG to be pesent.
HCG peaks at 8-12 weeks pregnant and then declines. A blood trest on the other hand can pick up any level of HCG which is why some women get them done.
Hope this helps and isnt even more confusing??!!
* At 14 DPO, the average HCG level is 48 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 17-119 mIU/ml.
* At 15 DPO, the average HCG level is 59 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 17-147 mIU/ml.
* At 16 DPO, the average HCG level is 95 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 33-223 mIU/ml.
* At 17 DPO, the average HCG level is 132 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 17-429 mIU/ml.
* At 18 DPO, the average HCG level is 292 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 70-758 mIU/ml.

Hmm probably too much information???
I get a bit caught up in the science side of all sometimes!!
Best of luck once again xx

Wow emma your chart is looking GOOD :smiliedance: It looks exactly like mine the month I got my BFP with this bub!
You did ovulate a little late (CD17) so this could be why you're still getting BFN's since it looks like AF is only a few days late? I also ovulate on day 17/18 and I usually take a little longer to get a BFP as well.
I agree with the others - Blood test or wait a day or two and try another hpt with morning wee.
Good luck I think you're definitely in with a shot here :D

Hi Susmumma  I think the story is even more complicated than that, because it not only depends on when you ovulated, but also when the egg implanted. hCG starts manfacturing from implantation (from what I've read - please correct me if I'm wrong!) and implantation can occur any time between 6 and 12 DPO, with most occuring between 8 and 10 DPO. So if you ovulated late, and implanted late, it could be quite a while before you have detectable levels of hCG!
Although maybe this is taken into consideration with the ranges you quoted. :detective:

hi girls,
sorry to make you wait, i couldnt get on last night from home for some weird reason???? anyway, the blood test came back negative. so im pretty bummed. Its so weird, my temps are still so high, no sign of Af at all. The doc said to come back in 2 weeks if still no Af and he will redo the test. bu then I will be 2.5 weeks late roughly, so I guess we'll just wait and see. Im more worried now why my AF has disappeared, as she has never ever been even a day late before?????

Bummer Emma!!! :fingerscrossed: AF hurrys herself up so you can get on with trying again!
And congrats Boush!!!!:smiliedance:
Sorry Emma - but you never know it may just be too early.
It's torture having a long cycle and just knowing what is going on - I got AF this month (late) but I still have post o temps. Think I might have a rest from temping after this month.
Good luck :fingerscrossed:
So sorry about the results Em!!
:fingerscrossed: that you have tested to early and your BFP is just around the corner. :hugs:
